That's impressive research . I just had a memory of the Tempest having a few nose configurations (because they tried a few engines with it), and the rest of the body seemed to fit, and a memory was clawing at the back of my mind - I can't claim any greater insight than that.

I notice the rego matches so its a positive.

Saab B-18B

I'll accept it. The 18A had two Wright R-1830 engines, the 18B was fitted with DB 605 engines. This particular plane is a Saab T 18B which was armed with one 57mm and 2 20mm cannons plus air to ground rockets, serving in a close air support/ground attack role.

For this one, the plane in question is the one all the way to the left. The 3 in line on the right are Curtiss SBC Helldivers, but the last on on the left is a different model from a different manufacturer.

It looks like a tempest the round engine cowl would indicate a radial engine.The Tempest II had a centaurus IV radial engine. That photo seems to have 6 exhaust ports on the side but the centaurus was an18 cylinder engine. It had me beat but then I saw this

Very good! I have a particular weakness for the Sabre engine and this was probably the best implementation of that crazy thing. The key visual hint is to notice that you've got a line of exhausts along either side of the engine, typical for inline engines and really hard to imagine working with a radial.

Berliner-Joyce OJ? The engine there looks very much like a Pratt & Whitney Wasp (as seen on Peashooters), and OJ sports a Wasp Junior.

Close enough for me . It is the Berliner-Joyce OJ-2. About 39 were manufactured in 1933 and served in the US Navy as catapult-launched spotter planes on cruisers. The Engine was a Pratt & Whitney R-985-A Wasp Junior.

Nice! This one was interesting, took some Google work to get it. It appears this is a line drawing for a Heinkel He-100 D-1. I'm guessing the curveball is that this pic was used to identify the HE-113 which didn't exist. The He-100s were dressed up as the fictional HE-113 for propaganda/misinformation purposes.
