This would add an additional 314 years, and the current timeline of CKII is only 387 years long, so what you are proposing is essentially an entirely new game ( a game Paradox should definitely make sometime later though). As cool an idea I think this is, I just can't see them being able to add all the new history files and get information for landowners from this period as well as add in the new/older cultures/religions AND add gameplay mechanics for all of them.

You're right of course, it would be a major undertaking. But for all we know they could have been working on this DLC since release.

To be honest, I'd be disappointed with Pagans. I bought SoI and had a go, but it just wasn't the same (and what's with the nasty green UI?). I bought LoR because I wanted the retinues, but I haven't bothered playing an Orthodox character. The only time I played Orthodox was in 1.06 when I played the Duke of Cyprus with the aim of converting to Catholicism and forming the Kingdom of Cyprus. I just can't see any interest in Pagans for me, although I might buy it on sale and have a go at it.

These two may be broken/under-developed, but they're at least playable. We've been waiting to actually get to play the pagans for months, so I think these two can be done later. Besides, not all pagan countries are doomed, just the Baltic and Norse ones. The Cumans and Mongols are anything but doomed (well ok the Cumans are from the Mongols, but that hardly counts sinc eboth are Pagan anyway), and in a player's hand, even the seemingly "doomed" Baltic pagans or slightly stronger Norse can actually have a chance. In addition, hopefully the Zoroastrians can be made playable too, because how many of us don't want to restore Sassanid Persia?

Baltic Pagans were not really doomed either in reality, just in the game. Prussia managed to survive quite well until the Teutonic knights attacked them in 1226. And Lithuania even survived a long time against the Teutonic Order. Only in 1387 did the Lithuanian king decide to convert. If it had not been for the crusades of the Teutonic Order the Baltic pagans would perhaps have survived as a poltiical power way longer.

I want Republics so badly. I want to play as Venice. The ideal would be a combined Republic & Theocraties DLC with new system of papal election.

EDIT : Also, cadet branches would be a huge improvement for the game, and could be the center of focus for the developers. If they do so, I hope they will also make playables barons, that would make sense.

An earlier start would be cool, 800 or even 600.

No, it wouldn't. It would be terrible. The map would be dominated by very few blobs (Kingdom of the Franks, Byzantium) and tons of minors with no scripted character to start a agme with. A 600 start date would hava at most a few dozens characters to choose from and half of them would be Greeks or Franks. Late 900s is perhaps the earliest start date that could offer good gameplay.

So when are we supposed to get more info on this new DLC? If it's been released on New Year, I'm expecting a few dev diaries... one per week... is there any possibility we're getting one this friday?

Just a suggestion, Paradox. We need more info. ;)

Great producer :D, great respect for the man after hearing! Loved the interview, it is rare to hear exactly what i'd say myslef almost. If 1 or 10 buy it we'll produce it bodes well for many possible DLC's, and much of my money going to this company. My ideas again, it'd surprise me if it wasn't 1, 3 or 5 :D

1, More events and such like for western Europe! Can always develop a great thing more :D. Support for heresies, more plot types, more intrigue etc.
2, Expanding East a little bit to follow Alexanders conquest line a bit more! Elephant troops!
3, Pagans yes, Norse mod is always fun, if you can do something of this caliber or higher I would purchase it.
4, Fantasy - DLC Vampires, undead etc sounds like fun. A faction within the game that doesn't directly control land at first, they can gain land however if they get powerful. Vampire trait that can spread on courtiers, possibly hidden?, vampire council somewhere in the game that the church are hunting down etc, the possibilites are quite fun. Do you ally with them, accept them, or try to wipe them out (or become one)?
5, Trading Republics Venice, Venice, Venice! :D
6, Unlanded factions could be struggling within larger empires, and you can support them helping them come to power, this is more for 5 and 4 above but it has potential to fit any design.
7, Starting as a Baron I read here, its an idea I've had once but its more of a minor thing really, nice as a novelty value. It'd put you possibly 4 tiers deep at game start which would be an interesting play through.

Except for the Pope, the Republics, Prince-Bishops...
Although there aren't a lot of those at the 1066 start.

I said you'll be able to play as anybody of any religion on the map, I didn't say you'll be able to play as clergy or republics. I would rather pagans because then what we can play won't be restricted by religion anymore, but only by government type.

If you can't play as clergy or republics (never mind courtiers and barons) then you cannot play "anybody of any religion on the map," only all 'feudal' lords count level and above.

Personally I would like a DLC that lets us take control of one of the Holy Orders, like Templar, Hospitallers, or Teutonic Knights. I know succession would be tricky. Holding regions, and vassals would also be different i guess, as the orders weren't really independent nations (except the Teutons) so perhaps the number of troops you can draw from a region depends on the level of prestige/influence you posses in a particular area. In any case, would love to lead one of the Knightly Orders.
