When starting up a new (I just downloaded 2.05, though I have played 2.04 quite a bit) Germany game, I was tempted to select "Grofaz" difficulty, since a few of the bonuses seemed appealing, especially the faster BB buildtimes, even though I know it overall makes the game much harder.

You probably already know my question, but just to make sure: When I started the game, I noticed that a BB would cost me 10 IC for 695 days. According to Grofaz, the build time should have been shrunk by about 100 days; instead, it was bumped up past 1000, rendering them completely useless to me.

My question: is this WAD? I noticed a few other bonuses under "Grofaz", like greater air attacks. Are these supposed to exist as they seem? Is "Grofaz" supposed to provide any bonuses for me, or is it nothing but a handicap? Would Grofaz lend itself to a different strategy, or does it just make everything harder?

P.S. Where did you get the name "Grofaz" (assuming that the 'f' isn't actually one of those funky German S's)?

I won't answer the first part of your question as I haven't gotten around to playing the 2.05 HSR yet. I'm sure one of the HSR guys will see your post and help out.

As for the name "Grofaz", it was an ironic nickname used by some of Hitlers subordinates. It is an abbreviation of Grosster Feldherr aller Zeiten , or, "Greatest Military Genius of all Time".
