The patch seems ok for me. I am running 1.30 on my Linux setup, and the latest patch on Windows. So I have a backup planSince no one has said it, I guess I will. I strongly recommend you roll back to patch 1.30* for a while. It should be more stable, and coming in for the first time, you won't know any difference in what 1.31 changed anyway.
*I have stayed on 1.30.4. Maybe somebody else can comment on whether 1.30.6 is worth using instead.
Thank you! I have been a member of a few gaming communities, and this one is surely not toxic from what I can tell.Good luck ValPaliy, and welcome. Ask away with any questions. Contrary to some we are not toxic![]()

Well, Paradox is acting like any game devs would, really. Being a software developer myself I can understand where they are coming from, partially. But being a gamer I'd say the community should be listened to.I guess that depends on who you ask. Ask most of the community and they would agree. Ask Paradox who really do not want any criticism, and they would disagree.
EUIV is a really bloated game nowadays, but I've still played countless hours in it. Ottomans are probably a good start, but Spain is very good as well. There is a lot to the game - hard to learn, easy to master. Then, when you want to play a smaller nation, you can go with Florence. It's settled neatly in the middle of Italy surrounded by smaller nations. Just remember to look at what alliances the enemy have.
As far as the nations go, thanks for your advice. Spain seems good. I was also thinking Japan, but I'd imagine it will be harder to expand?
You meant to say not in the unified stateJapan isn't a thing yet in 1444.

Well, no playing tag, but if you chose Kyoto you could be the first to unify JapanYes, as a playing tag.
Go with Ryazan, and form Ruthenia. Thanks guys! Why was yesterday a bad day to join? As far as the game goes, I think I will go with the Ottomans. Neighboring country, which is also nice![]()
Japan can be a very interesting game. Once you managed to unite it, expansion is also quite easy in almost every direction.Well, Paradox is acting like any game devs would, really. Perfect! That's what I will do.You could start as Zaporozhie and form Ruthenia aka (proto-Ukraine) the newest update has given them the ability to raze provinces like a horde.
Never. Because Ryazan was formed much later than Zaporozhie (Rhutenia). I like my historyGo with Ryazan, and form Ruthenia.
Zaporozhie doesn't begin at game start, hence Ryazan.Never. Because Ryazan was formed much later than Zaporozhie (Rhutenia). I like my history![]()
Just release it as Lithuania and you are ready to go at start. its only 3 provinces though so can be a challenge to start. I'd release all other minors in Lithuania first. I think it has a core in crimea too.Zaporozhie doesn't begin at game start, hence Ryazan.
