Personally, I like the addition in 1.05 of Norway owning TP's in Greenland in 1419. Yet I noticed that in 1492 Denmark (which now owns Norway) has knowledge of Greenland and a Terra Incognita Nova Scotia yet the TP's are gone. I don't know if this was done on purpose or not. I was under the impression that the TP's were there to keep a historically (though very lightly populated) Scandanavian area Scandanavian (barring conquest and TP burning). This should be as true in 1492 as 1419.

This is, obviously, small and I could easily fix it, but I thought I'd bring it up anyway. Thanks. :)

Fair enough.

Was this discussed earlier on another thread and I missed it? In that case I feel rather silly, as I kinda assumed Greenland stayed permanently Scandanavian as it is to this day, being still Danish territory.

I agree. I just don't want an AI England to take Greenland if I can avoid it. I really, really, liked it belonging to Norway/Denmark as of 1.05. I could fix it for my game, but If figured the whole point of the forum was to improve the game for all. Maybe I was wrong about it being Scandavian at that point. Either way I wanted to know for sure (in game wise...). It seemed like an (easy to make) oversight to me. I pretty much always play 1419 onwards (despite it's many frustrations to a history buff, i.e. an often very weak Ottoman Empire & gobbled up HRE) but I figured a 1492 greenland should also have lvl 1 TP's for Denmark. There wasn't a large Danish population there but that doesn't change the fact that it was nevertheless claimed by the danish (and when it comes to population density it's important to remember that a TP is only "10")

I know that for many the expanded Norway map was controversial, but I figure what is true (knowledge and planting the flag wise) in 1419 is equally true a few decades later.

Oh, and I feel really lame for being 3/5 posts on a thread. I normally hate people who do that... :D

They should have concentrated upon PPTI ( = Penetration of PTI ).

Its also surprisingly easy for third party to get those TP:s, just fight a determined war vs denmark, and soon enough greenland will be handed over :)

P.s: I just got them as russia, next thing i knew was i got an explorer.. decided to check out manhattan.. and found it :), Rest is history ( lenape, iroquese, huron etc.. ).

Not really, just some quasi-floating 8 transports :), Enough to get 16k away, 10k survived in 6ships.. I did this quite early 1550, so no Peter, yet :)

BTW. Did peter really build galleys? (for taking/burning of umeå) Thats what those skumpajana look like

Yup, he did. The skumpajana you mentioned is probably what we call skampavoj, from the Italian scampare, a half-galley.

The camel, I got Greenland also. Except I got an explorer and decided to find North America via a military access through Iceland. But when I came across Greenland it
was only half colonized. So 1 of the arctic lands of Greenland were added to the Russian crown circa 1500. Except when going down the coast I noticed both France and England were allready in North America, so I decided to just stick with Siberia. Sadly, I lost the colonies in Greenland later when I got an especially bad Time of Troubles while at war and with half my colonies without forts so I got a few independences and a few defections(the colony). :(
