I started this city when the Industries DLC dropped, and got a few milestones in before I got a set of corrupted save files and lost everything except the initial save :(

So I thought, let's start again but post progress on the forum :)

Playing on the Green Peaks Vanilla map that came with Industries, I've added Network Extensions 2 and MoveIt! into the mix to start with. It's a European theme map by default, and there are no other Map themes or LUTs in use at the moment, but I'll be doing a bit of experimentation to see which combination suits later.

The initial startup layout, RCI zoned, ready for the game to be unpaused...

People moved in, commercial and industrial buildings grew, and new residential and industrial zoning added. Early in the morning on Day 2...

The future plan is to expand the Industry as required westwards, the centre will be the main Commercial area, and expansion of the Residential areas will ne to the south of the stream at the bottom of the picture. More soon.

I think I will purchase the new area to the north of the existing area and develop Farming on the resource up there, and sacrifice the farming resource on the existing tile for further residential development.

To start with in this post, an overall virew of the current City. There was a sharp upsurge in Industrial demand, and the last vacant block in the generic industry area was filled, and another two added on to the west. Additional Forestry crops, storage and another Sawmill added, trying to get the workers in that area up to triggering the next Level. A small addition to the residential area has been completed.

...and immediately after I took the last screenshot, the Forestry area levelled up.

Residential demand picked up, and money started rolling in overnight, so the residential square was completed, in the pouring rain :)

Workers now have on-site accomodation in the Forestry area, and they can now choose the Sawdust storage area or the Biomass Pellet Plant to work in.

...and to complete the production chain, the generic industry area has now gained a Furniture Factory, with associated Warehouse for Paper storage.

Nicely Done. I am not much into grid layouts. If I was ... I like the what you have done here with yours. Throwing in the odd curved line or angle helps to ease what's going on inside my head. I think more an issue for me. :) Again ... I like what you have done here. Thanks for the read and screen shots.

Today's work involved enlarging the residential area to cater for increased demand and the conversion of the original residential area to commercial use.

A start has been made on Farming Industry to the north of the city, and to encourage workers to move employment to there and the Forestry Industry a start has been made on reducing the generic industry.

Demand for commercial has been relentless, so a new Commercial district closer to the Residential areas was started, but sluggish uptake in workers moving to the specialised Industries may dictate removal of this area in the next episode.
