I don't think he meant offense (or offence). Correcting someone can be an especially touchy subject, in particular in real life, but personally I would rather be corrected by someone than continue to repeat the same mistake with no one saying anything.

I see that you wrote your location is Denmark, are you a foreign speaker of English? If so, I would be especially glad if someone corrected me. I'm learning French right now and if a native French speaker corrected me I would be happy since it's an opportunity to learn. (edit: or someone who is simply fluent in French, doesn't have to be native).

And your use of "ain't" in that sense was slightly confusing, and at the very least hard to read, so I could see why enf91 felt the need to point it out.

This is totally wrong , Greeks were aware of their identify just after 1204 , actually this awareness alienated Slavic and Caucasian populations of the empire ; one the reasons of it's downfall.
I think that Greece should exist in vanilla game if Italy and Germany do but this is another topic.

No, it didn't. The reason for the fall of the Roman empire was the capture of constantinople in 1204. After that, you have the true byzantine empire- a rump state, under siege by the ottomans. But greek and greeks existed throughout the roman empire in both greece and anatolia as the majority populations, and seeing as these regions were most often held by the empire it is safe to say that no one cares what slavs think.

No, rather than that there should just be a cut off period for the byzantine restoration event. Maybe after 1600 you lose the event and it gets replaced by "Form the Greek nation"

Though there are some good US public schools, to be sure (I went to one), I would still be very surprised if the word "Mughal" had e'er been spoken inside one.

Hell, AP European History classes don't even MENTION the Ottomans...

Ahem, wut?? My AP Euro class talked a lot about the Ottomans. And i live in California, which is 51st in the U.S. in per capita spending on education (yeah thats right, we're behind Puerta Rico).

I think we can all agree that the American education system is a disgrace to the civilized world. Hell, I remember the day when I realized that my history text books were preaching propaganda painting my church (Anglican/Church of England) as one of the villains of American history. Needless to say, it left me a tad bitter. But back on topic, no, I don't think Greece should be in from the start. My understanding is also that the modern Greek national identity began to form as opposition to the Ottomans. Therefore, it wouldn't make sense for it to be in from the beginning.

I think the decision should be in there. I just don't think the country should exist at the start of the game in the form of cores.

Sorry but you are wrong in everything ; meddieval Greek are not that different from modern , there are books written back then that explain everything so you just have to go to a book store and search for them.

After speaking with tens of Balkanian friends all those years i came to believe that all over the peninsula education sucks big time when it comes to history classes so do not trust what you learn there.

There are probably quite a number of reasons for this, the first being as it is a western state, why could it not unify like the others (france, spain, england) did. Also, until HTTT and the introduction of the HRE as a state there was no german culture union tag. The final reason is probably that the amount of germans on this board would probably create constant threads bemoaning the lack of a german state until it was added and this is just paradox making its work easier given tthe amount of posts the devs look through.

Germany existed... it was fragmented all to hell, sure, but it existed as a title and a concept and it's not hard to imagine it being pulled together.
