Greek olympic event is really boring.

How to win:

Conquer all helenic countries. Leave olympus as a vassal.

Be the sole conpetitior every time...

#winning.

Seriously though, yeah, olympics-events are repetitive and flat. There’s quite some stuff in their event chains to build on though i think, given how it makes characters move around and whatnot.

... like, after the inclusion of espionage, if I were host of olympics in a multiplayer game, I’d be wary of spies coming in at the same time.
You can't actually do this. If too few nations send delegates, the event is cancelled. Happened to me once.

Well, just keep a few more vadsals then, for token-participants. With your larger character pool you’ll win frequently enough. (If you eant to lean into it you can set out to posch orassasinate any of their best athletes :p

I won 2 times in last ~30 games :D

Does anyone have any idea how to make the Olympics more fun and interesting to play?

Make them look like the real games of the Ancient times, not the modern ones:

Add several events to each edition.

Make the games more a private affair than it is currently. Have the rich members of the major families decide to sponsor an athlete or send their horses to one of the events. If I remember correctly, when horses won a race, the winner was the owner, not the rider or the charioteer (this is how women could win).

Cities used to poach the best athletes from other cities.

etc.

If all that gets too complex, make it possible to ignore or automate, like trade.

Give participating olympians a temporary trait and make some events that involve them before / after participating as well as during.

You could have themes for gamess, inluenced by the host and / or the prior winner, altering the weigts foe the stats considered in the next competition + related traits and events.

The events could be mostly for added flavour - very low chance to chance to happen, or setting up olympic condenders for scheemes involving practise, celebration, travel, blessings, popularity, prominence, family prestiege...

This stuff is ripe for being fleshed out in patch, dlc or mod. I auppose it just hasnt been made a priority yet. Understandably so.

As a tangent, there is a small chance that a character can win, yet die in the process. I almost raged when that happened to Diodotus playing as Bactria.

But yeah....

Seems related to the sum of the stats... I’ve seen characters with high stat totals, but low martial win.

Yup, a 1% chance it seems. Which I suppose is actually somewhat high if you send your best character repeatedly so that he wins every Olympics.
