Greek leaders changing when Eleftherios Venizelos dies

So I've been playing a lot of Greece with the new focus tree, but I've noticed that when the Democratic leader, that you get if you lock up the king, dies after switching Ideology your current ruler also disappears and you get a new one, which is usually just a weaker version of the original. Is this Working as intended?

I'm assuming you're referring to Themistoklis Sofoulis. If so, then yes. When Venizelos dies, you get a new leader, Themistokolis Sofoulis who is a debuffed democratic leader.

I've had this happen when Venizelos survives all the way to the EEE coup and having Kosmidis be replaced by some other fascist leader once Venizelos dies.

I've had it happen when he dies the same month the monarch was removed. Was pissed and to restart twice because it happened again back to back to back.
