I am playing Byzantium and the event for the loss of Greek fire just fired ; ok what exactly has changed? I mean is this just stating a historical fact? :unsure:

Not that I've noticed. You might get a couple of courtiers out of the deal though.

It's mostly just there for a change of pace. I liked it.

afaik it's just another of the entertaining Byzantine flavor event series that might give you random traits, piety prestige, and gold gain/loss. There isn't even navel combat for it to affect.

I see, little disappointed, but it had a rather interesting story line to it though. Its just that the ending was bland.

There is an ending were you capture the pirate king and he appears in your court. (Though, not in chains. Bug?) I normally put him in charge of some newly conquered area, as he has always had good stats for me.

I paid off the pirate king and got the last alchemist as courtier for the loss of money and a bit prestrige :/

If we had naval combat, there might be more to this event.
