Finland must be bad guys then, we use variant of AK-47. Also, many drug lords use American M16s or M4s.

Why can`t you just say "Ak-47. Weapon that can be used by anyone and it still works" or something like that. No need to start talking about bad guys as if this would be movie.

Well. I didn`t know about Finland.

But in movies when you see AK-47, it means user is a bad guy. AK-47 is kind of symbol itself

communists may automatically be equated to bad guy in every American movie, it's still a tad simplistic

I agree, only the dictatorship should apply to Communist Vietnam.

Yeah, 'cause before that Vietnam was a democratic paradise

...Yeah, 'cause before that Vietnam was a democratic paradise

The fact that South Vietnam was not - in fact was very far - from a perfect democracy doesn't justify establishing a totalitarian regime many times worst.

Booting out foreign influence (French, then US) did not require totalitarianism as a result.

EDIT: 77Hawk77 is right, back to technology topic.

I am not a super expert in the field, but where you mention I mean production not design or first synthesys :

- About Syntethic Rubber a mean SBR perhaps the year in not pure exact but industrial manufacture of this truly replacement for natural rubber began during World War 2 in 1943

- With Jet Engine everything is questionable but with the timeline on hand https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_jet_power#First_turbojet_engines_.281930-1938.29 1937 looks like the year of the jet engines really started to work.

Of course maybe dates are questionable but if they serve to give a general idea of when some things come to our lives.

So you clearly don't undertand the word invention, or much of what you're talking about. Please stop spreading disinformation.
A jet engine is anything that produces thrust by expanding gas through a nozzle. The first one was invented in Ancient Greece.
A gas turbine is a type of machine where a variable displacement compressor is attached to a turbine with a combustor inbetween such that the compressor feeds the combustor and turbine, with the turbine driving the compressor in a self sustaining manner. Excess energy in the turbine exhaust may then be extracted as useful work.
A turbojet is a gas turbine engine that has a 0 bypass ratio and all useful work is extracted in the form of thrust by expanding the turbine exhaust through a nozzle, hence the inclusion of jet in the name.

All of these things came way before Whittle's engine. What your're describing is a metallurgical breakthrough that allowed this type of engine to have a useful life, and the power to weight ratio that makes it suitable for aircraft.

Synthetic rubber was invented just at the end of WWI (I think that's the time line), and was immediately used commercially, but since it was invented in Germany and they promptly lost the war, and had their economy shattered it didn't see wide spread addoption around the world since the demand for rubber was low, and the healthy economies that needed rubber had overseas colonies with unlimited natural rubber supplying an established industrial process making it had to displace. It was produced in the USA quite a bit where importing foreign natural rubber was expensive enough to justify the investment in capital.
It was only in WW2 when the USA needed massive quantities of rubber to fuel the warmachine that due to the loss of the rubber supply of the far east to the Japanesse they built out the synthetic rubber capacity such that for the first time synthetic rubber had a greater production volume globally than natural rubber.

So you clearly don't undertand the word invention, or much of what you're talking about. Please stop spreading disinformation.

An invention is a unique or novel device, method, composition or process. The invention process is a process within an overall engineering and product development process. It may be an improvement upon a machine or product, or a new process for creating an object or a result. An invention that achieves a completely unique function or result may be a radical breakthrough. Such works are novel and not obvious to others skilled in the same field. An inventor may be taking a big step in success or failure.

  • SBR is a replacement for natural rubber. It was originally developed prior to World War II in Germany by chemist Walter Bock. Industrial manufacture began during World War 2 (1943)
  • The Heinkel HeS 1(HeS - Heinkel Strahltriebwerke) was Germany's first jet engine, which was a stationary test item that ran on hydrogen.
  • The W.U. (Whittle Unit) engine ran successfully on 12 April 1937

I just do not understand the hurtful tone of some people in this forum. You can really ask for more accuracy but as much as calling someone disinformer seems exaggerated and misplaced, what seemed a relaxed thread on technology soon becomes in another pitched battle of proud geeks. Really unfortunate.
