That could actually be reason to support Germany as counter-weight against France. Just like they did in 7 years war with Prussia. Britain has a noble tradition of "divide and rule" politics both on geopolitical and local stage.

As I wrote, that is a possibility. But they might as well turn against such a German Empire if it threatens the balance of power in their view. Definitly would not have been an easy situation for any British government if something like that had happened.

not to talk 'bout what savoia would have done... if war was going to be made against austria italian states would have jumped on the cart hoping for a reunification... at least in the late part of the century

not probably a big treath for a unified germany, but it would be historical to see piedmont-savoy to fight them too all the way through milan to venice

A unified Habsburg-Germany should be the nightmare of a Sardinian Player :eek:o No way beat such a huge colossus, without a world war where everyone fights Germany

I think the biggest issue is that it has been stated that Germany has cores in specific unchanging locations. So if you form Germany with Austria, you apparently lose all of your cores. Needless to say, without cores even on Austria proper, it isn't so much Austrian Germany as German Austrian Empire, if that makes any sense. :(

I am fairly certain that in EU3, it adds cores to your domain when you form a nation ... So it wouldn't be a problem, you'd keep your cores on the Austrian domains.

I had thought that, but my impression was that it was very absolute. Though I may have just been underthinking things. Austrian Germany would be scary if it works like that.:D
