CK2 used to work fine on my computer and works fine on my laptop, but we've recently upgraded to a i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20 GHZ, which is pretty great. Unfortunately it's a 32 bit system but that still played CK2 just fine before the upgrade.

Now, the graphics stays flickering uncontrollably. There was a problem with a C++ runtime error on autosave but I seem to have fixed that on my own. No idea what to do about the graphics though. Have got all major DLCs and am running latest patch.

I came home for the holidays hoping to be able to run the game, and I even bought Way of Life just for that reason. Now I can't play it at all.

Also, I am willing to upgrade to 64 bit, I just have no idea how and have had trouble finding out how.

If I remember correctly the upgrade to 64 bit has to be a clean install, but all you need is to buy the Win installation disk and go after backing up all your user data.

If you want detailed help on how to upgrade your OS, just post in the fun forum the OT
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?12-OT-Forum

and you will get all the help you need.

Especially with an i5 you would want the 64 bit OS as your issue could be memory related.

the work around for you currently would be to increase the amount of mem your OS will allow for an application. Do this if you have 4 GB ram

Navigate to Start>All Programs>Accessories>
Right-click "Command prompt" and choose "Run as administrator"
A command line window should open
Type in "BCDEdit /set increaseuserva 3072" (without quotation marks)
3072 is the maximum, "2560" or "2816" is in most cases sufficent.
To let the changes take effect restart your computer

Also look for an update for your GFX card as typically for flickering GFX it's an out of date driver
