It turns out buying a new gaming machine is a horrible maze of "Gotcha's" and false bargains. The graphics cards part is particularly hard to judge. Everytime I think that I now understand how to judge the performance of a particular GeForce card, someone points something out to me that I wasn't aware of.

So, I decided to post this list here for everybody's convenience. Hopefully, this is a reliable benchmark if you want to know whether you're buying something very awesome, or utter crap:

Maybe this thread should be under the sticky section, or some kind of FAQ? Not everybody is clued up when it comes to hardware, and these comparative sites are very helpful.

Looking for a new card but don't know if it's worth waiting for the 390X. you don't know if those numbers are 100% and there is no price speculations:/
