At this early stage I'd like to lobby for less graphics.
People who play this game are far more interesting in what is happening than seeing lifelike critters strutting around with swords/guns what ever. I mean, an image of a train track with with some kind of stuff moving on it from an areal perspective is more in keeping with what we should see. No moving shaking heads or other crap.
The goal of the map should be high contrast visibility with clearly distinctive information features.
The look and feel of Victoria is very good and consistent needing only improved details. DON'T DO MORE THAN NECESSARY.
As example of making something good awful by too much graphics and obscuring the game play look at the difference between Capitalism Plus and Capitalism II (enlight). I participated in that design effort and it was incredibly frustrating.
Expand the use of graphs to show trends, especially with demographics. Show nation, culture and world totals. Use contextual buttons on the subject to make changes and avoid drop down menu selections, especially when the number of choices <=1.
I looked at the HoI III video, I hope Vicky won't look like that.
