When I load the game I can't see anything but the names of the country and not the map itself.

This is always a video card or driver issue. Are you on Windows, Mac or Linux?

Assuming Windows: Please post a dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the end of the "Sound devices" section for brevity) and your Documents/EU4/settings.txt. Zip up your whole Documents/EU4/logs/ directory and attach or link that here too please.

As yes, the old Intel driver situation, that's no doubt the problem. your Intel driver (at least) is really out of date. See if Toshiba have a newer one for you, if not you'll have to do a manual install from the Intel site.
This is their .exe install, try running it first https://downloadcenter.intel.com/De...sion=Windows 7 (64-bit)*&DownloadType=Drivers

If it refuses to install (ie Toshiba have restricted you to their drivers, not the generic Intel ones) you’ll need to use the .zip version

Sorry, also edit that settings.txt to say force_pow2_textures=no (first line in the file).
