Graphic improvements, Sprites where are they?

Forgive me if this is an ignorant question. I remember from HOI 1 when there was a lot of modding done to improve the sprites (on map graphic representations of panzers and infantry). I haven't played HOI 2 in ages but was very disapointed when the developers had downgraded the graphics to only a few generic pics (ie. same infantry graphic for mot, mech and inf). I'm wondering if any work has been done on graphic mods to improve this for HOI2 as was done in HOI1??

I've had a look through the forum without finding too much. Just wondering if I've missed something...

Graphics Improvement Project. Then look around on those forums for some icons you like, since the ones in GIP aren't very good (I recommend Scytth's land and air, and Hannibal's naval) and you're done.

Nice mods to the colors and all, but is there anyway to get the HOI 1 sprites (only infantry ones) into HoI 2? I might be the only one, but I loved different looking soldier sprites.

It must have been some kind of problem with my Internet... it worked fine now, and i´ve tried them out, I will need get used to the change but apart from that they worked ok, thanks! :wacko:

Another question, for what i´ve understood in HoI ( wich I never played ), sprites were modded by the community and they work with HoI2 also. is that it ?

That would be news to me, that HoI sprites can be used in HoI2! Just when you think you know something.

Anyhow thanks to everyone for your posts here, I now have a vastly improved looking HoI2...

No, no thank u friend!! I didn´t know about GIP or Scyth´s site, I used custom graphs but these are truly magnificent !! My armies even seem t o fight better now! Thank U ! This kind thing is what makes these communities so great Simple generosity and some luck...in the threads we check
