So I'm playing as the Kingdom of Italy. Greece was taken from the Byzantines by the Fatimids, and a crusade was called a few decades later. Catholics won pretty handily and I was awarded the Kingdom of Greece. It immediately struck me that this was a large realm, much larger than I was used to in the Kingdom of Jerusalem and so large that I'd never be able to manage it inside my own realm. So I thought maybe it would be a good idea to divvy it up, give Thrace back to the Byzantines, give a couple duchies to my liege and my brothers-in-law, and keep a few choice duchies and the royal title for myself. Of course, it turns out that I can't actually do that, because you can only give titles to people below you in your realm or sub-realm, unless you're granting it to the Papacy. That doesn't really seem to make sense. If I'm the king and I want to give a title to someone else, who can stop me? Maybe the Emperor, if I'm his vassal, but what if I'm just giving away titles within the HRE, or to him? Is there any way to change this?
