Jean III assumes the throne
Charles uses the money to upgrade some fortresses and sends state gifts to his only allies, Helvetia and Aragon.
In June, the conversion of Sachsen fails. The army crushes the revolt.
January, 1769: Charles has died, and now Jean III, his son, assumes the throne. He is just as ambitious as his father, and intends to make himself an emperor.
He begins saving money so he can convert the Protestants in Sachsen.
In March, Quebec secedes from England. Jean recognizes their government with a royal marriage and prepares to send them gifts.
In April, he sends them a state gift to help them get started.
In May, Naples secedes from England. Jean recognizes them with a royal marriage.
In June, Sicily secedes from England. Jean recognizes them with a royal marriage.
In October, missionaries are sent to Sachsen to convert the Protestants there. Also, a state gift is sent to Sicily to help them throw out the English oppressors.
January, 1770: Jean continues to build the military.
In September, Jean convinces Aragon to become a vassal.
Burgundy's current list of vassals includes: France, England, Iroquois, Brittany, Aragon, the Inca Empire, and Helvetia.
In October, heresy spreads to Talahassee. It is now Protestant.
In December, Holstein secedes from Sweden. Jean recognizes them with a royal marriage.
January, 1771: Jean sends Holstein a state gift to help them overthrow the Swedes.
In August, Tuscany secedes from England. Jean recognizes them with a royal marriage.
In November, he sends them a personal gift.
In November, the conversion of Savanah fails. The army moves in to deal with them.
January, 1772: Money is being spent to send missionaries.
In November, the conversion of Alabama fails. The army moves in to deal with them.
January, 1773: Jean prepares to finish off Savoy. Their inflation is so high it is seeping across the border.
In February, Modena secedes from England. Jean recognizes their government with a royal marriage.
In June, the United States of America secedes from England. Jean recognizes them with a royal marriage. He also plans to help them.
In July, the cities demand their old rights, Jean gives in, and centralization suffers.
Also, on the 1st, he declares war on Savoy.
