I hace just found out that my Motherboard is an Assus P4P800 SE.

Then I checked at the Asus web page but I couldn´t find the video card slot information, does anyone know if it supports the PCI cards?

Edit: Don´t mind, I just found out it supports AGP 8x :(

Edit 2:

Ok, this is the last question and I won´t bother anymore; I just found this 2 cards, I know one should be much better than the other, but what I want to know is if it´s worthy to buy the better one to run this 2 games at full detail(EUIII and MT2)

Video card ASUS 7600 GS AGP 4X/8X 256Mb HDTV BOX (This costs twice the other one)

Video Card XFX 6200 A 256 MB DDR2 AGP 8x Tv Out j2

THANKS A LOT

I'm not sure that you may run MTW2 at full detail with none of them.
But the 7600 is much better.

How about a ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 256MB HyperMemory? I think I read that it has Pixelshader 2.0 - is it sufficient for EU3? I'm planning to buy a laptop and it would be included in the price.

As I understand your card will work just fine. It has 128mb onboard ram and supports pixelshader 2.0: http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=233095

Remember that you should have 1gb ram. What type of processor is it on that laptop?

I play demo with laptop which has Turion64 2.4GHz/2GB memory/ATI Xpress200 and I suffer from the poor performance of demo. Considering Xpress200 has similar horsepower with Xpress 1150(both 3DMark03 score around 700), I think you may have big chance suffer from EU3 just as me.

But I may be wrong since I only have played demo. If I were you, I would try to buy the laptop with at least ATI X1400/Nvidia GO 7400. Powerful cpu(Turion64 2.4Ghz), more than sufficient memory(2GB) won't help much in EU3. Paradox has made EU3 a GPU-depend game just like most FPS. You can easily find someone in this forum who has less powerful cpu and memory but a above-moderate GPU run eu3 perfectly smooth. Go get a power GPU with at least 128MB memory, CPU and memory will be your last concern.

Just my two cent.

Will the NVidia GeForce2 MX (128 Mb) work? I bought this computer in 2002, although it was state of the art at the time.
The rest of the computer may have been state of the art but the video card was not. nVidia released the GeForce4 in early 2002 so the GeForce2 was already well out of date (and the MX was the cheap version of the GeForce2 GTS). Once again, most computers not configured specifically for gaming are massively underpowered graphically.

I am a bit curious if I should register EU3 yet, I am going to demo it with my none compatible Intel Video Card using that German 3D Accelerator that makes you have a Huge Pond for a Map. After I already paid 40 bucks for it

I wish someone would've posted in more bold letters that despite having the specs straight the Card I have is incompatible! 128 meg video with Pixel Shader 2.0 but the BOX should state a warning. Not that other games having been buggy but they all ended up Sold or Returned to the Store. Which is really sad!!! There should be a Performance and a Graphic Lovers Setting for these GAMES!!!! Strategy First Battlefront now WW2Online had that but is also incompatible with Intel Video

My bigger concern over the video card is that will EU3 operate on our older machines? 2.8 Pentium with 1 gig of Ram, around 500 free after the system resources rape it. Or should us Lower spec Owners not bother in attempting to run MultiPlayer Eu3? Honestly anyone offer some good advice? Because I cannot break down today and buy a computer so I'd rather not be teased with a game that will never run on it or will be much too laggy to truly run?

Could anybody explain me why Paradox hire so poor graphics coders, or why they decided to run EU3 in 3D?

I mean - I have an old machine (Radeon 9100) - but still I'm able tu run Oblivion with GREAT graphics, and I can't do that with EU3 where 3D is only an addition (very poor) to strategy game. And why didn't they use and old (free) Quake engine - fast and efficient - still able to hold much better graphics than already in EU3.

I doesn't make ANY sense to me.

Honestly mate I'm sure they had their reasons. You can safely assume that they didn't do it because they wanted to piss you off or alienate people.

Sorry mate, but I simply don't believe that you get "great" graphics from Oblivion using that card. In fact I'm amazed it can run at all.

http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=577034&hl=ranking

EU3 dedicates the processor to the game engine and the video card to the graphics, so the card has to do all the presentation work by itself. This has obviously limited compatibility with non-gaming (eg intel integrated) and/or obsolete video cards. Sadly this has an impact on their fanbase who, lets face it, have never been into cutting edge hardware and graphics.

Not the best design choice IMO, but there it is.

You just need a new graphics card. Not a brand new computer.
The rest of the computer is more than necessary to play the game.

I have some questions (yes, again):

1. What video card could run the game with maximum settings (I need an AGP card).
2. Is 512 MB of memory enough to run the game properly or 1GB is really necessary (does it affect the speed dramatically?).

Well, that's all. Thanks.
