Don't you just hate it when the AI kicks you when you're down?

An interesting option would have been to lose both wars (though that leaves stains on the player's psyche) and turn fascist. With those officers we've seen some screenies before, you'd have high enough levels of revanchism.

You could of course also seize Berlin, negotiate a white peace (or better?) and then kick your neighbours yourself!

Both sides are rapidly advancing towards enemy capitals.

August 5th, 1902
The desperate push for Berlin eventually succeedes and the city is taken. Also the Prussians are advancing.

Grand Duke proposes white peace to Prussians but they won't accept. So the war will go on but how long? Is the desperate move to take Berlin pointless and will lead only to more Burgundian casualties now when the Prussians are encircling them?

End of August
The catastrophe escalates more. Why won't the Prussians accept white peace? Do they just want to return the favour and offer similar humilitation to Burgundians by taking Nancy? Losing Nancy to Prussia will lead to complete crumple of Burgundian Empire.

Situation in Berlin:

Or are Prussians planning to completely destroy the army that took Berlin?

Begin of September 1902:

Diplomatic efforts to end the war. Grand Duke is ready to give some Trans-Rhine land to end this war that will wreck his country. But with no luck. Prussians won't accept.

Look at the Burgundian population and production dropping. Very sad.

Incredible suspension! For once an AI knows when it has you by the ... throat. If the Prussians aren't stupid enough to back down now, once your Berlin task force is destroyed the peace proposals will hurt VERY much. At least you're going down with a fight.

And it's a good thing to see a defeat in an AAR once in a while. Adds to the plot!

It appears that the prussians declared war right after the devastating one he had with france. The war exhaustion continues even after war but fades with a little time.

I bet the prussians are after the rhineland and the other german territories in Burgundian hands.

All in all, what a kick in the balls.

Hopefully the Grand Duchy can pull through, the situation is bleak- at leastit's just Prussia though, France again would have been a complete disaster.

The gambit appears to have perhaps failed.

Though one can never count the AI out - they may yet turn around and offer a white peace or something!

Middle of September:
Time to destroy the Burgundian army that occupies Berlin. This doesn't look too good.

And battle of Nancy still rages on.

Grand Duke start to offer better peace terms to Prussia. But no luck.

End of September:
Everything is lost now. Soon the army in Berlin will fade away and defenders of Nancy just have to give up the fight. Now it's last time to try peace deal. If Nancy will fall to Prussians whole Burgundy will collapse.

October 1, 1902
This is the peace deal that Prussians finally accepted:

Military situation when the peace arrived. Nancy never fell. White line shows the new Prusso-Burgundian border. Everything on the right bank of Rhine was lost below Pforzheim.
