No, the Perm and the Mordvin are not at all close, but Lappish-Samoyed and baltic Finnics are even more futher apart. It would honestly pain my eyes to see Permic or Mordvin names for baltic Finns and other way around would be odd for anyone knowledged in Permics or Mordvins.

I could hunt up Permic and Mordvin names to make a list, but as I believe it's not at all easy process, I'd prefer not to do it, if it would be for naught.

Well, if you find a decent list for the Perm I will add them ... was considering the Gall-Gaidheal, but not too sure, and it'd just be silly to favor them over the Perm.

Ok, will look. If I don't find anything in net, I have to visit the library too and that won't happen before tomorrow though.

Btw. another question for the low countries...a bit OT but I don't want a new thread for this....anyway whats the deal with Dukes(Counts) of Flanders? Were they really Frankish? It seems to me that it's wrong to have them as Frankish(French)...

I would give them flemish culture. Alltough the count/duke of 1066 Baldwin was the regent of Phillipe Capet the child king of France. So they would definitely have spoken Frankish to. But the name Baldwin/Badouin or whatever is a name used by a lot of Flemish rulers, the 1066 Baldwin was the 5th with that name already.

The name isn't much in use with other Frankish rulers as far as I know, so flemish culture could be justified.

His heir was his son Robert, nicknamed the Frisian. Not that he was frisian but he was married to Gertrude van Holland (Gerulfing).

The Almohad's should replace the generic Almohad ruler.

The female is a generic female so any future sons will be of the same wife.

I would like to suggest a alteration

Use the Byzantine tag for the Vlachs and the Iberian tag for the Sards.

Since with the Iberian sprite in the balkans you now have turkish regiments looking like christian knights

Occitanie aux Occitains.

I know It's a bit late, but I have a changeproposal, wondering if it could be good.

Basically it's ridiculous to have separate occitan from catalan if we only have one norse. I propose that we merge occitan with catalan and instead separate "provoncal" from occitan and italian. Italy should not be that homogenous, it isn't even today. Piedmonte, padua, genoa, parma, dauphinne, forez, lyon, provence, nice and savoie would then be "provencale". Imprtnat though to have the same sprite for all the romance cultures. Occitan and Provancale. Then Latin tag from occitan to provancale, coverting to italian, and occitan to catalands tag, converting to catalan. Thus France doesn't become italian in EU2, but spanish!

The reasons for this are 1; linguistic. Catalan and occitan hadn't separated during that timeframe. Provancale had more in common with italian; and 2; esteathic. Italy looks weird being the only place in europe besides germany being som monotonous. What do you think?

I do not agree on the splitting italian matter for tag reasons, we would need tags for other cultures. Agreeing on merging occitan and catalan though. But what should the culture be called? Catalo- occitan? (Just made that name up, and I am agreeing it's stupid).

Anyway, for tag reasons I think catalan and occitan could be merged, if we had unlimited tags I would strongly oppose it, but we don't.

alos, we really should start wondering what will happen when we convert to EUII, I have a feeling we would end up with funny cultures in funny places.

Since this is a mod for CK I don't think we have to bother how it looks in EUII.

The culture mod will never become a official mod, so if people don't like it, don't use it.

Alltough I am not against it. What are the differences between Occitan and Provencal ? In some sources it is said that Occitan and Provencal are synonimous.

Also your setup for the culture looks a bit weird. Since Padua is on the adriatic shore.
