1. The "main" goal of playing as Granada is to achieve the re-reconquista and re-establish the Caliphate of Cordoba. Doing that puts all the different cultures of Spain under you, yet they are not accepted, giving less power than if Spain had formed.

I suggest making Andalusia a second cultural union for Iberic cultures.

2. Granada used to be a rich kingdom, through which the trade of Europe and Africa converged, only decaying once Portugal opened up the sea lanes to Africa, yet the latest patches have made it so that Granada starts with a negative income on day 1. Boost or tweak the starting provinces so that Granada is back again in the green on day 1.

I do agree that Granada could use way richer provinces, becoming way poorer when Castille conquers them.

Even the muslim world in general could use some more development in important cities like Mecca, Medina, Tunis, Marrakech and Aden.

Thank you for the picture, first time I see my country's name with Moorish meaning (No, they are not Moors, but the Moors gave those provinces their name).

Granada was a powerful nation? Yes.
But was it really that powerful in 1444? I believe no, I believe that they have it accurate...

That's what makes games like Byzantium and Granada so rewarding! Facing certain doom, laughing in the face of death and pulling a stunt like the Re-Reconquista or Restoring the Pentarchy :D

EDIT: I found that culture a bit strange... Only later I realized that it's in German :D

Actually Granda should be rich given that it was the biggest city on Iberia if you look at population numbers.

@Martin_Mortyry Byzantine ceased to exist within 10 years while Granada existed for at least another 50 years.

Granada relied mostly on taxes in order to sustain a respectable army.
If we where to depict true Granada in-game, a lot would have to change.
The province's base tax would not change, but yes bonuses collected from taxation, and penalties to production.
Plus, there would need to be a constant "near-civil-war state", because the struggle for power was HUGE. During periods of time (in game-time), the emir of Granada ruled only the city of Granada! And, for some short periods of time, not even the WHOLE CITY!

So yes, adding bonuses to tax income would be correct, but also penalties to unrest, production and revolts from Christian peasants living in those regions...

It's true...

The fort system is really a pain if you are a small nation with average/low income in early game...
