Borden
____Sumire brings us back to the jumpship without incident, and the weeks pass by as we travel from system to system. There are some unique items in the Black Market systems we visit, but nothing really worth stopping for. Eventually, I come across a pilot looking to keep themselves busy during the downtime.

Event - Moonlighting with an LRM: Nimbus has decided to try his hand at weapon engineering. I decide to let him keep working on it.
Result: He doesn't improve the performance of the launcher, and actually does the opposite, rendering it inoperable. Lose 1 LRM10. Nimbus gains Low Spirits for 14 days.

____Yang eventually completes the refit of Ghost, and we then talk about using the command Warhammer to replace Snipe. One of the Phoenix Hawks would need to lose their reinforced cockpit bracing to take on the communications array to keep the lance's resolve at the same high level, and if we do that, we might as well remove the bracing from the other one and install the available lostech rangefinder. We would lose the damage mitigation from the Marauder's command module, but in exchange, we could add the X-1 ECM field generator.

____Eventually, Yang comes up with a design that won't melt from excess heat: two ER PPCs, which would give it a better effective range than Snipe and each shot could decapitate a fully armored head, combined with an advanced targeting system, the ECM suite, and the rest of our double heat sinks and heat exchangers. That refit would be jump capable, but it would have only one ton of armor, so the ECM field would be its main source of protection, which means that it would have to stay out of sensor range to be safe. In exchange, Macross and Valkyrie would be able to react as fast as light mechs. It's hard to say how long it would take to build the mech, but Snipe would be unavailable as soon as we decide to start - maybe as long as two months.

____After a lot of thought, I decide to wait for now, and see if we find anything better in the Black Markets that we'll be visiting. We still need to test out the modified Ghost, anyway. Several jumps later, and there hasn't been anything particularly exciting in the stores. I'm also looking for a Skirmisher pilot that could make the best use of the new Ghost, but no luck there either. I do, however, encounter a rather chipper pilot while walking back from the mechbay.

Event - Happy Birthday: Turns out that today is Glitch's birthday. I wish we had a bit more space to celebrate, but I wish her a happy birthday all the same.
Result: Glitch gains High Spirits for 30 days.

____Eventually, we find something worth stopping for in Borden. An advanced ER PPC and third generation heat exchanger, along with a few contracts. Nothing spectacular, but hopefully it's worth the trip.

Mission 195: 2.5 Skull Ambush Convoy ____ Employer: Federated Suns ____ Target: Pirates ____ Biome: Desert
Lance: Ghost (Gramps), Valkyrie (Medusa), Snipe (Hardpoint), Crazy Eights (Glitch)

Report: Hostile Acquisitions - This job is to intercept a minerals convoy and destroy it. I decide to take the new Ghost for its first drop personally. It certainly moves fast, and the rangefinder lets me spot the tail end of the convoy - looks like this will be a race to the finish and we are already behind. The COIL-L performs beautifully, vaporizing the side of the Striker and showering the road with debris. This gets the escort's attention, and the rest of our mechs move to engage. Fortunately, the convoy is slow, and we are able to eliminate the escorts and then the convoy without much difficulty. There is a scary moment where I miss a sword strike on an SRM carrier, but most of its missiles fly wide as it tries to drive away and escape. Striker, 2x SRM Carrier, PPC Carrier. ENF-UNK, BJ-1DB (headshot), VND-UNK.

Damage: Only armor. Reputation with the Federated Suns improved to Honored. ____ Salvage: BJ-1DB assembled and moved into storage.
Advancement: Hardpoint: Guts 9 to 10 - Increased Resolve Gain

Mission 196: 3 Skull Capture Base ____ Employer: Free Worlds League ____ Target: Pirates ____ Biome: Badlands
Lance: Ghost (Gramps), Valkyrie (Medusa), Snipe (Hardpoint), Warhammer (Glitch)

Report: Scientific Extraction - The Free Worlds League has identified a rogue listening post, and our job is to secure the base so their forces can interrogate the data and personnel. It's not often we get a job from this employer, so I decide to focus on improving our reputation. We're limited to 240 tons, but that will still be plenty. I quickly spot some assault turrets around the base, relay spotting information, and then start blasting. The COIL-L lands some powerful hits, but these turrets are heavily armored and it takes two shots to eliminate one. SRM, Laser, Artillery, Command. As we secure the area, a lance of mechs is detected returning to the base - probably a patrol. We make short work of them. TDR-UNK, ON-UNK, CTF-UNK (headshot), JM-UNK.

Damage: Only armor.

Mission 197: 2 Skull Capture Base ____ Employer: Pirates ____ Target: Capellans ____ Biome: Polar
Lance: Ghost (Gramps), Valkyrie (Medusa), Snipe (Hardpoint), Warhammer (Glitch)

Report: Some Cargo - A warehouse of goods is finally packaged up to ship offworld, but we've been contracted to take it over and re-route the cargo. There are no turrets, but there is a lance of defending mechs, which is good because we have great salvage rights. The Locusts are squashed quickly, and the Firestarter is carefully eliminated. As I move in and secure the base, a second set of mechs appears on approach. I go scout them out, and once the rest of the lance is in position, we engage. LCT-1E, 2xLCT-1M, FS9-K (headshot). 2x JVN-10N, BJ-1 (headshot), SHD-2D.

Damage: Only armor. ____ Salvage: JVN-10N, FS9-K, BJ-1 assembled and moved into storage.
Advancement: Hardpoint: Piloting 7 to 8.

Mission 198: 2 Skull Destroy Base ____ Employer: Pirates ____ Target: Capellans ____ Biome: Desert
Lance: Ghost (Gramps), Valkyrie (Medusa), Snipe (Hardpoint), Warhammer (Glitch)

Report: Rival Scumbags - The police have arrested two dozen members of a rival criminal organization. Our job is to bring the prison down on them for a permanent sentence. A set of light turrets (Energy, Support, 2x SRM) and defending mechs protects the facility, and Sumire reports that another lance is moving to reinforce the defenders. Fortunately, we are able to fight them one at a time. During the opening of the fight, Medusa is caught out of position, and a Locust runs around behind, blasting through the rear armor and wrecking the internal equipment. LCT-1E, SDR-5V, CTF-0X (pilot kill), FS9-H. ENF-4R, VND-1R (pilot kill), 2x JVN-10F.

Damage: Valkyrie CT rear reduced to 95% structure. Gyro+++ destroyed. ____ Salvage: VND-1R, CTF-0X, SDR-5V assembled and moved into storage.

Cavalor
____With much grumbling, Yang pulls the best gyro out of the Warhammer and installs it in Valkyrie, replacing it with a less effective model. The repairs take about a week, and during our flight back to the jump point, we are contacted by another dropship.

Event - Travelers in Need: An open hail is asking for help in dealing with an outbreak of Periphery Pox. I agree with Darius about selling them some of our medical supplies.
Result: The decision is not a popular one amongst some members of the crew. Morale -1. Gain 30k C-Bills. -1 Medical Point for 14 days.

____The Cavalor system has some salvage for an SLDF Black Knight, as well as another top tier rangefinder. There are also several contracts available, mostly working for the Black Market pirates. Time is running out for the official entry deadline for the Tournament of Champions flashpoint, but we should still have time to stop.

Mission 199: 3 Skull Assassinate ____ Employer: Pirates ____ Target: Capellans ____ Biome: Desert
Lance: Ghost (Gramps), Valkyrie (Medusa), Snipe (Hardpoint), Warhammer (Eck)

Report: Whole World Goes Blind - An official from House Liao has been very effective in shutting down black market operations, so we've been contracted to eliminate him while he's on a scouting patrol. Our area of operations is around an facility built atop an oasis, and the lance spreads out on the high ground while I scout along the right flank. It's not long before escorts and our target are spotted. WHM-6L, HBK-4G, 2x BJ-1 (both legs kill), HBK-4J, ENF-4R, BJ-1DC. PPC Carrier, Inferno Carrier.

Damage: Only armor. ____ Salvage: BJ-1, ENF-4R assembled and moved into storage.
Advancement: Hardpoint: Piloting 8 to 9.

Mission 200: 3 Skull Battle ____ Employer: Pirates ____ Target: Capellans ____ Biome: Lowlands
Lance: Ghost (Gramps), Valkyrie (Medusa), Snipe (Hardpoint), Warhammer (Eck)

Report: Aspirine Depletion - Odd name for a job, but our task is to attack and destroy two lances that were engaged in combat exercises together. As I run over a hill and get eyes on the targets, it looks like the other lance was a security force from Ceres Metals. The battle takes a while, but we are eventually victorious. I also feel like I've gotten used to the hit and run tactics to make the best use of Ghost's new weapon configuration. Even with the extra cooling, I can only fire the COIL-L for two shots before it has to cool off. It is rather satisfying to core out a mech in a single shot though. BL-7-KNT, WHM-6L (headshot), TDR-5S (headshot), CRB-2D, GRF-1S (pilot kill), BJ-1DB.

Damage: Only armor. ____ Salvage: BL-7-KNT, GRF-1S, WHM-6L assembled and moved into storage.

Mission 201: 2 Skull Capture Base ____ Employer: Federated Suns ____ Target: Pirates ____ Biome: Tundra
Lance: COM-2D (Guano), PNT-9R (Stubble), UM-R60 (Pontoon), Crazy Eights (Hardpoint)

Report: Decommissioned Base - House Davion is looking to improve the skills of their local security team, and they need a pilot to serve as a good example and make sure that the team survives. Hardpoint drops in with Crazy Eights, and she leads the formation of mechs towards a facility that was a base for raiders, up until that group was recently disbanded due to combat losses. As they approach, a set of light turrets powers up and begins active targeting. Support, SRM, 2x Energy. The rookies hang back and shoot from long range as Crazy Eights takes the enemy fire. Additional hostiles appear on sensors as a trio of mechs moves towards the base. Apparently the last survivors of the raider group weren't ready to leave yet. Guano gets a bit careless and exposes himself to enemy fire, but he's able to flee out of sight before being destroyed. Pontoon is able to flank the enemy but draws some heavy fire; however, this lets Hardpoint destroy the entire left side of the Thunderbolt and incapacitate the mech. JVN-10N, TDR-5S, SHD-2K (headshot).

Damage: COM-2D, LT & LA Destroyed. CT reduced to 25% structure. Guano injured for 27 days. UM-R60, RT reduced to 80% structure.
Salvage: SHD-2K, TDR-5S assembled and moved into storage.

Mission 202: 2 Skull Battle ____ Employer: Pirates ____ Target: Capellans ____ Biome: Polar
Lance: Ghost (Gramps), Valkyrie (Behemoth), Macross (Shadow), Snipe (Hardpoint)

Report: Loud and Fatal - Drop in, blow up some stuff to attract attention, and eliminate the patrols that show up to stop us. Pretty straightforward with good salvage rights, but we'll probably be facing light mechs so I decide to leave our heavy mechs in their bays. As I sprint towards the last known location, my suspicions are confirmed - Locusts and armored fighting vehicles. 2x LCT-3V (pilot kills), 2x Striker. A fast moving lance of reinforcements appears, and we turn to engage them after our initial targets are destroyed. This battle goes perfectly by the book, with every single enemy pilot being killed before their mech is destroyed; leaving the big guns home was a good plan. 2x LCT-1M (pilot kills), JVN-10F (pilot kill), FS9-A (pilot kill).

Damage: Only armor. Reputation with Capellan Confederation reduced to Loathed. ____ Salvage: FS9-A, JVN-10F, 2x LCT-1M, LCT-3V assembled and moved into storage.

Mission 203: 2.5 Skull Defend Base ____ Employer: Pirates ____ Target: Capellans ____ Biome: Jungle
Lance: Valkyrie (Behemoth), Macross (Shadow), Snipe (Glitch), Crazy Eights (Hardpoint)

Report: Caught in the Act - A pirate raid was successful, but their attacking force was too damaged to safely remain in the area. We are to protect the raiders from an incoming force that is looking to bring the base down on top of them. Fortunately, the base is atop a hill and hard to access, making it rather defensible. The enemy vanguard has to approach uphill, and Macross and Valkyrie both jump around their flank to engage. LCT-1E, CDA-3C (pilot kill), WVR-6M. The main Capellan force arrives shortly after the shooting starts, and they are deposited on a hilltop that is the same level as the base, but across a small valley. Behemoth gets too close and the Vulcan lands a swift kick to the shin, wrecking some of Valkyrie's gear. VND-1X, VND-1SIC, WHM-6R (pilot kill), VL-2T. A third Capellan lance is detected in the water at the base of the steep mountain - unless they have LRMs, they probably won't make a difference in the fight. A few missiles do arc up the mountain, but nothing significant. WVR-6D (legs kill), HBK-4SP, VND-1X.

Damage: Valkyrie, RL reduced to 65% structure. Leg Mod Destroyed. ____ Salvage: CDA-3C, WHM-6R assembled and moved into storage.
Advancement: Hardpoint: Piloting 9 to 10.

Mission 204: 2 Skull Assassinate ____ Employer: Federated Suns ____ Target: Capellans____ Biome: Lowlands
Lance: Ghost (Gramps), Valkyrie (Behemoth), Macross (Shadow), Snipe (Hardpoint)

Report: Escaping Spy - Our target is a person that has acquired some forbidden knowledge. House Davion wants that knowledge kept secret. I lead the fast mechs around the right flank on a convenient road, and Hardpoint slowly moves up on the left. However, she unexpectedly picks up a scout on sensors, and gives away our element of surprise. She jumps Snipe back onto a tower of rock, but the scouts pursue, so I turn to intercept; my opening shot shears off the leg of a Phoenix Hawk, redirecting the enemy's attention. Surprisingly, I find myself dodging COIL fire! Most of these mechs look to be modified to have improved close combat capabilities. Eventually, our target joins the fight and also contributes some COIL shots in our direction. I'm able to move up close and land a shot that severs its leg at the knee. After that, it tries to run but is hopelessly outmaneuvered. 2x PXH-UNK (one pilot kill), WVR-UNK (pilot kill), JR-UNK. BL-TEST-UNK (pilot kill).

Damage: Snipe, RA reduced to 50% structure. ____ Salvage: BL-TEST-UNK, PXH-UNK assembled and moved into storage.

Cluff's Stand
____Sumire reports that we will still be able to make it to the Tournament of Champions flashpoint, but only if we fly directly there. Any other stops will mean that we have missed our chance. I give her the go ahead to set course out of Capellan space once Darius gets back from the black market. A few hours later, we are 30 million C-Bills richer from selling dozens of mechs that Yang's mechtechs have assembled, and we bid our black market pirate jumpship farewell.
____During the three weeks it takes to arrive in Cluff's Stand, Yang is able to repair the damage to Snipe and Valkyrie, and also exchanges the cockpit bracing in both Phoenix Hawks with Magestrix Alpha rangefinders. This will give all of our medium mechs the same excellent scouting ability. As we move into orbit, I check the black market for interesting gear. Nothing really catches my eye, so I give my attention to the briefing on this tournament.

Flashpoint: Tournament of Champions
- - - - - - - - Flashpoint: Tournament of Champions - - - - - - -
Professor Mencius Horvat welcomes us with a theatric shower of words and eccentricities. The tournament prize is 1 million C-Bills, winner take all. Our pilots will only be using stock UrbanMechs that will be provided by the tournament. If we deploy our own mechs, then we will forfeit the tournament and Calamar Gigante, alleged man-monster and enforcer, will supposedly choke the life out of us.

Mission 205: 2 Skull Battle ____ Employer: Tournament of Champions ____ Target: Hostile Mercenaries ____ Biome: Urban
Lance: UM-R60 (Medusa), UM-R60 (Shadow), UM-R60 (Nimbus), UM-R60 (Hardpoint)

Report: The arena is in the ruins of a city, and some opening comments akin to an action movie introduction begin the tournament. Our four pilots were drawn by a lottery that Darius organized; the rest of our pilots are looking forward to the second round of the tournament. The lance moves forward, looking to get good angles on their opponents. As we detect them on long range sensors, Professor Mencius announces a 'wild card' entry to the tournament who is looking to be the last one standing. Her arrival by drop pod will put her on the other side of our targets, which should help us whittle them down. Medusa draws some autocannon fire and then Hardpoint sensor locks the lead target, letting the rest of the lance focus their shots. Medusa takes a hit but our return fire cores out the two opponents relatively quickly.
____ Shots are heard near the drop pod location, and the lance forms up to investigate. Sensors reveal a two-on-one fight happening one block up and over, and the team maneuvers to get a good field of fire along the road. The 'wild card' pilot named Jackhammer is eliminated, but she still lives thanks to a quick ejection, and she has bought enough time for us to get into a decent position. A full lance volley destroys the right torso of a hostile UrbanMech, and before it can recover, the follow up shots send it toppling to the ground. Its partner jumps atop a building to attack us, but having already been damaged, our return fire destroys it, sending the flaming scrap falling back down to the street below.

- - - - - - - - Flashpoint: Tournament of Champions - - - - - - -
While the bridge crew discusses the tournament and how over the top dramatic it is, we are contacted by Jackhammer. Turns out, she has a sub-dermal microphone and is an agent for House Davion investigating the Professor's actions against the commercial interests of the Federated Suns. She warns us that the second round of the tournament is a trap, that Horvat is a pirate, and the only winner over the past several years has been Calamar Gigante - hundreds of other skilled pilots have disappeared. She offers us the opportunity to execute a kill contract on the Professor for a payout of a quarter million C-Bills and an improved reputation with House Davion. I decide to go through with the tournament as planned - the Federated Suns will need to find another opportunity to take out Professor Horvat.

Mission 206: 2 Skull Battle ____ Employer: Tournament of Champions ____ Target: Hostile Mercenaries ____ Biome: Urban
Lance: UM-R60 (Gramps), UM-R60 (Hardpoint)

Report: Only two pilots are allowed for the final round of the tournament, and while I was originally going to stay out of the tournament, I decide to overrule the lottery and personally drop in with Hardpoint as my second. As soon as we arrive, the final round begins, and we sprint towards our targets. On the way, I realize that our mechs have shoddy armor - not a good sign. Once we get into range, Sumire notes that a Leopard that has been loitering in orbit is moving on an approach vector - possibly another wild card. The opening shots from the enemy hit a small building, causing it to quickly collapse, and a power substation, destroying it in a large explosion and creating an area of ionized smoke about the size of a city block. I run back up the road to sandwich the drop zone of the mystery entrant between us and the enemy. Turns out that Professor Horvat has decided to take to the field himself, landing in a Blackjack. The other two UrbanMechs land some good hits on him before he jumps clear of the landing site.
____ I lead Hardpoint around the corner to put some distance between us and the Professor, and we take cover in a small park. One of the enemy mechs heads after the Blackjack, while the other comes after us. A pair of precise shots later, and that UrbanMech is destroyed. In the distance, the other UrbanMech is seen trading fire, and then it explodes when its ammunition detonates, with the damage carrying into the reactor and scrapping that mech. We then move to get a good angle on the Professor. I take a few hits as we rush to get our small lasers in range as well, and we succeed, blowing off both of his arms. His charge into melee damages my AC/10, but Hardpoint and I are both able to jump to the extreme end of our small laser range, concentrating fire on his left side and coring out the Blackjack. The Professor manages to eject, and congratulating us, agrees to meet in orbit to deliver our reward.

Damage: No damage to our mechs. ____ Salvage: UM-R60 assembled and moved into storage.
Advancement: Hardpoint: Tactics 9 to 10 - Elite Max
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
____Thrilled with our performance, Professor Mencius Horvat gives a grandiose farewell. We receive 1 million C-Bills, plus a UM-R60L as a memento of our triumph. We lose some reputation with the Federated Suns, and gain double that amount with the Black Market Pirates, but in the end, we remain Honored by both. Hardpoint celebrates her MRB certification as having a top rating in all skill categories on top of the company celebrating the victory in the tournament.
____It's nice to have some good news, and it's great having a barracks full of the best pilots I've ever seen. I'd still like to hire a Skirmisher at some point to make the best use of the Ghost, but all of the very skilled pilots are probably gainfully employed elsewhere. I'll just have to keep my eyes open and our company reputation as a great place for a MechWarrior to be. To that end, after a day to recover, I have Darius pull up the best contract that's available in the system.

Mission 207: 3.5 Skull Capture Base ____ Employer: Local Gov ____ Target: Ali Baba's Thieves ____ Biome: Urban
Lance: Valkyrie (Behemoth), Macross (Medusa), Warhammer (Eck), Snipe (Hardpoint)

Report: Trade Embargo - Professor Horvat connects us with a representative of the local government, who offers us a difficult job of capturing a military outpost that is being used by a group of thieves that I've never heard of before. We're limited to 240 tons, but Darius is able to negotiate for good salvage rights instead. We encounter an enemy scout on approach to the base, and Hardpoint opens fire first, setting off an ammo explosion with Snipe's Gauss Rifle that destroys the Thunderbolt's right torso. Medusa and Behemoth then jump to its left side and knock it to the ground with a series of PPC fire. It staggers to its feet only to have it's left leg and torso destroyed, which incapacitates the pilot. Other mechs move to intercept us, but the combination of collapsing any buildings they jump onto and maneuvering to their flanks reduces their ability to resist our advance. TDR-5S (pilot kill), WVR-6R, TDR-5SS (pilot kill).
____ Medusa jumps ahead to scout the base and finds a full set of heavy turrets that opens fire, trying to hit him. They have advanced targeting computers, and are able to take the initiative much earlier than standard versions. 2x Support, SRM, Command. As we begin eliminating the turrets, a second enemy force is detected. We finish off the base defenses and then move to engage the new arrivals. Eck takes point, attracting enemy fire and attention, while Medusa and Behemoth jump along the flanks and Hardpoint snipes from afar. GHR-5H (headshot), GRF-1N (pilot kill), TBT-5J (legs kill), JM6-S (pilot kill).

Damage: Snipe, LA reduced to 90% structure. Reputation with Ali Baba's Thieves reduced to Disliked.
Salvage: GHR-5H, GRN-1N, TBT-5J assembled and moved into storage.

Mission 208: 3 Skull Battle ____ Employer: Badlands Horde ____ Target: Isle Avengers ____ Biome: Polar
Lance: Valkyrie (Behemoth), Macross (Medusa), Warhammer (Eck), Snipe (Hardpoint)

Report: Lore Controversies - A traditional lance versus lance fight has been arranged, but our employer wants to spoil the party and ensure that there are no survivors. Contact is made quickly, unexpectedly close; a pair of PPC shots miss Snipe before Hardpoint can jump away. The lance is able to spot all of the Isle Avengers lance, and also identifies where their planned opponents will be arriving. The enemy Cicada and Warhammer are eliminated before the second lance lands. Macross and Valkyrie soar through the sky to see the Dragon and Thunderbolt fighting against the lance from the Bloody Horns. We focus on the new arrivals at first, removing the legs from several mechs. The last mech standing is the Thunderbolt, and Medusa lands several hits on its cockpit, destroying the head. WHM-6D (headshot), CDA-2B, DRG-1C, TDR-5SS (headshot). SHD-2H, WVR-6R (pilot kill), PXH-1 (pilot kill), SHD-2D.

Damage: Only armor. ____ Salvage: PXH-1, TDR-5SS assembled and moved into storage.

Mission 209: 2 Skull Recovery ____ Employer: Magistracy of Canopus ____ Target: Capellan Confederation ____ Biome: Jungle
Lance: Ghost (Shadow), Valkyrie (Behemoth), Macross (Medusa)

Report: Biological Sample - This job is to recover some agents and some sealed samples. Wanting to make a good impression with the Magistracy, I focus on that during the contract negotiations. Not having to worry about optimizing salvage or pay means that we can deploy a small force of fast mechs to get in and out. I won't even be upset if they never shoot at anyone.
____On landing, Darius points out the two locations - one for the samples and the other for the operatives. Glad that I didn't just send the Ghost solo, I have the group split up. Behemoth is on point and she takes lots of fire, but most of it just shreds the jungle foliage around her. Shadow secures the samples while Behemoth jumps again, overshooting the agent pickup point. The enemies keep firing at her, which sets up Medusa to jump in range and grab the agents. He blasts apart a Locust that was too close on the jump in, and he destroys another one before jumping clear. A moment later, the whole team arrives at the pickup area, and Sumire performs an expert extraction. SHD-2D, VL-2T, BJ-1DC, TBT-5J, 3x LCT-1M.

Damage: Only armor.

Flashpoint: The Baying of Hounds
____While I'm looking at the starmap with Sumire, Darius reminds me that the Baying of Hounds flashpoint is still available, but it looks like it won't be around for much longer. After reviewing the chart, it looks like we can still make it in time, but can't afford any stops on the way. Three uneventful weeks later, we arrive around an airless rock of a planet that still bears the scars from many atomic explosions.
- - - - - - - - Flashpoint: The Baying of Hounds - - - - - - -
Morgan Kell, of the well known Kell Hound mercenary company, is the man behind this flashpoint request. His first love, a woman that goes by the callsign Tempest, has called for help as a mercenary group named the Beasts of Balawat has been chasing her and her daughter across the Periphery. Morgan suspects that this is a trap meant to lure him out of exile. We will be the cavalry that clears a path for Tempest's convoy to move to an abandoned landing pad. Our first target is a Stalker that has been modified to be a devastating LRM platform.

Mission 210: 3.5 Skull Assassinate ____ Employer: Kell Hounds ____ Target: Beasts of Balawat ____ Biome: Lunar
Lance: Ghost (Gramps), Warhammer (Eck), Snipe (Hardpoint), Crazy Eights (Glitch)

Report: I take Ghost for this drop and will scout for the heavy lance in search of our target. Darius negotiated for C-Bills over salvage, so we can just focus on quick kills of the enemy mechs. I sprint along a road and highlight a group of enemies on our left flank - focused fire turns them to scrap. CDA-2B, RFL-3C, DRG-1N, PXH-1K. I do get sensor locked, so have to keep moving in order to stay relatively undamaged. A momentary lull in the fighting lets us recover our heat back to more manageable levels. Once a second set of hostiles appears on sensors, I sprint up to the top of a ridge to get a better line of sight, and we re-engage. The Stalker is found and destroyed first, and the enemy reinforcements soon follow. QKD-5A, GRF-1N, VND-1R, CPLT-K2. STK-3F.

Damage: Only armor. ____ Salvage: Hit Defense Gyro++ recovered and moved into storage.

Mission 211: 3.5 Skull Escort ____ Employer: Kell Hounds ____ Target: Beasts of Balawat ____ Biome: Lunar
Lance: Ghost (Gramps), Valkyrie (Behemoth), Warhammer (Eck), Snipe (Hardpoint)

Report: A section of hostile vehicles has positioned themselves near the meet-up point, and we quickly engage them. It looks like they have seen some fighting, as their armor is a ramshackle collection of mismatched plates that are easily pierced. 2x Demolisher, Inferno Carrier, Bulldog. Once the area is clear, the convoy begins moving out, but we aren't able to raise them on comms. Another hostile force is detected along the convoy's route, and I'm sensor locked again. However, this means that unit isn't shooting weapons, which I call a win. ARC-2K, ARC-2S (headshot). A second lance of Balwant mechs appears as the Kell dropship lands for the extraction, and they score some good hits, destroying one of the vehicles. VL-2T, TDR-5SS, MAD-3L, DRG-1N.

Damage: Only armor. ____ Salvage: ARC-2S assembled and moved into storage.
