As Germany, I conquered Czechoslovakia (they refused my Sudetenland demand), and they are now a government in exile. Do such governments exist as stand alone governments, or must they have a sponsoring country to host them? I'm pretty sure that the United Kingdom is sponsoring them in my game, which raises a question. If I'm able to conquer UK, and they are sponsoring one or more governments in exile, what happens to those exiled governments?

They must have a host country, yes. What happens to them after their host is occupied depends on whether the faction has any more majors or those (UK) are the last one. If there are more (i.e. USA), they all relocate to the next eligible faction leader. If there are none, a peace conference occurs and exiles have no say there whatsoever and are treated as normal defeated countries.

Sponsoring is a wrong term, though, as it is them sponsoring their host - through manpower and CIC/MIC donations. There are also some very nice decisions for the host to enact to gain PP for himself and XP for both parties.

Good explanation, and I was able to confirm your info when, after the Peace Conference, Czechoslovakia and Romania no longer showed up as governments in exile. Thanks.
