Alright, just got this game off a friend a few days ago and I've been playing as Belgium as a little starter country, but I have a problem with my form of government.

I enact a bunch of political reforms and my government switches to a Democracy. Great! That's what I wanted :)

Except...it then changes to a Presidential Dictatorship a week later. For no reason. Didn't change anything, the event 'something something changes consitution' pops up and *bam* Presidential Dictatorship, which changes around all my political reforms.

So, I say 'Not a problem! I'll just reform again!' and change it to 'Free Parties'. 'blahblahblah changes constitution - We have a two party system!' 'blahblah consitution - We're now a democracy!' Yay, back to democracy! Except the exact same thing happens and another event pops up changing Belgium to a Presidential Dictatorship and changing back all my reforms.

Is this WAD or is it a bug?

Get politicalparties to "right to ban" and set another party (a moderate one) to power, then enact your reforms. The constitution will then become a democracy and not a presidential dictatorship, but at the cost of high militancy because of all the reforms reverted and because of the party switching.

This just got answered a couple of days ago. Here.
Having an extremist party of the Left or the Right in power will prevent your newly minted democracy from lasting past the end of the current month.

If you don't understand what's happening, and continue reforms to turn it back into democracy, WITHOUT installing a non-extremist party, the democracy will be overthrown, every time. Every time this happens, you will:
a) lose prestige
b) probably get a large militancy hit among many of your POPs
There are other problems, so you want to avoid this cycle.

Which parties are extremist? Anarcho-Liberal, Reactionary, Fascist, and Communist - if I'm mistaken, someone should correct me.
