When I played 1.02 the governement usually changed when I freed the parties, allowed all unions, allowed public meetings and general suffrage. After paying this reforms, I got next first of the month an event which told me that my country now is a 'democrazy'.

Now, playing Austria 1.03, nothing happens. I'm still a constitutionary monarchy. I even allowed free press, but the governement doesn't change.

What have I to do for changeing governement?

Constitutional monarchy doesn't change to a democracy anymore just because of reforms in 1.03.

yep, have the same experience, it seems that somebody has to chase the king. Howevery, tehnically spoken your goverment will change from monarchy to const. monarchy if you reform politics.

if you really want to oust the king, just get a revolt,

the const. monarchy doesn't has the plurality bonus!

oh guys and a small question = my tax doesn't effect militancy - is this a bug? :)

OK, but that doens't change anything with my pluralism problem. Killing all clerks and kapitalists cannot be the solution.
How can I mange this now, by not changeing governement?

plurality means the need for reform, if the king is present in combination with a parliament, the pops only look to the amount of politic reforms to bring their militancy down. In democracies you'll get an extra plurality bonus.

in fact I put a socialist regime in power and taxed my poors to 70% and was waiting for some revolts, but then the liberals get in power again,

sigh,

My plurality goes down when I gave them full voting rights, free party, etc. All the cheap political reforms that have no running costs, basically. Didn't need the social reforms with running costs for a long, long, long time.

No it doesn't. You must be talking about some other thing than plurality, as it can only be lowered by some authoritarian inventions.

Hmm, but do they keep the plurality from going up? After I gave them the reforms all my provinces went from all red slowly back to green. Although it still could have coincided with a tech invention...

Plurality keeps going up, what you are experiencing is RR = Revolt risk.

Yes, I know, but one of the reasons for the RR was because of high plurality (+0.19 or something like that) when I checked some of my POPs. They were also not happy about the non existence of the reforms, so I thought I hit two birds with one stone...

You CAN get a democracy through reforms only.. i did in my current sardinia-piedmonte game. Didn't have to do all the reforms either, trade unions are still banned.

Are they constitutional monarchy or just monarchy? Two different things of course. Monarchy still becomes democracy with reforms...

I think it depends on which reforms you enact. If you enact full suffrage directly from a monarchy I think you get a democracy. If you make smaller changes you get a Const. Monarchy? Which can't be removed except by revolution.

Might be, I just gave landed vote rights. At least there is an event for democracy, too bad the triggers aren't visible.

nope, went straight to universal suffrage, all parties allowed, free press, etc., but the democracy didn't come.

Imagine this = we'll give voting rights to everybody!. Huray, let's hang the king for giving us voting rights, hurray!

do I make my point?

Certainly - but other people claim to have deposed the king (in Sardinia I think) and replaced him with a democracy.

So I was guessing  :eek:o

he he, no problemo, thinking is the way it works,

but I've read that a captured capital for 1 year will invoke reforms or revolts, that's a good one, you won't loose all your revolters like in 1.02,

in my last game I saw the Austrian red white flag, beautiful, :)
