Has anyone else played the1944 scenario and been able to:
1) completely annihilate the allied invasion through Normandy
2) completely retake Italy
3) encircle massive amounts of russian divisions and lower there total from 440 to 300?
4) all by 1945?
I'm not trying to brag, but the gotterdamerung mission seems slightly too easy. Perhaps if there were more manpower shortages this wouldn't be the case.

- P.S. The only odd thing in italy was this one south african challenger tank (80mm) that went up against 12 King Tigers and 8 infantry and didn't loose one organization or strength in 20 days of continuously combat. Eventually it retreated to sicily and then borded some transports.
The GOD scenario is not THAT difficult. By this I mean that is not winnable. First, don't be stupid as Germany. Manpower and resources are your two biggest problems. Try to hold onto provinces, which provide resources and give way to the Soviet Bear elsewhere to buy time. Max out your supply production for the first few days, since you have a LOT of units with losses.
What I did which worked for me was to Strategic deploy many of my panzers and mechs in decent shape to Normandy. You have some scattered here and there in Bulgaria, Romania, etc, which are not doing much. Place Kerserling in charge of the Italy garrison and remove the armor. You really only need 16-18 division in Italy, maybe less, to hold them back. Use the redeployed armor to attack and take Normandy back. Leave about half behind since they allies will land again and you need to be able to push them back before their beachhead become too strong.
After I did this, I became aggressive against SOV. I actually was able to encircle Stalingrad, but not take it before my lines in the north were beginning to give way under pressure. I knew that I was about to have most of my armies cut off if I did not react fast. Withdrew to close to too the original M-R line. SOV took awhile to retake all those abandoned provinces, even those deep inside SOV. During all this time, I was building Tac Bombers and researching, as well as building tons of supplies. As my manpower slowly recovered (Man of the People Minister is a must) stated building good armor and mechs, along with some precious (15 manpower!) Marine and mountain units.
With these new units, and the fact that the Soviet Union seemed content to only occasionally attack, I was able to retake Italy and attack Turkey and onwards to Indo-China after securing the Med through bring Spain into Axis and taking Egypt. Took the three mountainous/hilly provinces from the black sea to the Caspian Sea and held them despite repeated attacks. Using a 12 stack of bombers to break off the attacks or even completely annihilating the attack before they reached me kept the SOV off guard in that region, where they were aggressive as opposed to passive in Poland and Baltic.
Since the SOV were pretty passive, as was USA, was able to take Spain and England. Was nuked a few times by USA, but I already had more IC than resources so did not effect me at all because I had no units in the bombed cities. Later when I had my Nukes, took out Soviet Union. Was preparing to take out the USA but time ran out. So, in the end, I was able to annex SOV, ENG, and France.
Other things, which seemed to help a lot. Your Axis allies are a real boon. Give them some good techs and their troops can almost hold their own against the Soviets. The occasional fighter they build can be used to protect against Strategic / nuke bombings. Getting Argentina into the alliance also seemed to throw USA off guard. Once they joined, USA seems to concentrate on taking them out, which takes awhile since ARG is a big country. That buys time, which you need. Building Subs (cheep and low manpower!) by the dozen was also effective deterrent in keeping the Allies off your beaches.
Lastly, when retaking Italy, attack and after you are down to the invulnerable unit, save and then edit it out of the game from your game file. It is a bug.
