was just looking at some of the maps from the dev diaries, and i was stricken with how Gotland is the ultimate key to the baltic sea and the dominance of this. it borders 3 of the most essentiel seaprovinces in that "sea" so in conclusion i hope that Denmark still owns Gotland in the grand campain, as in EU2 because then it will rater piece of cake to make the baltic into a danish lake.

What struck me as odd is what kind of culture will Gotland have?
The people weren't Swedes, neither Danes.

There's no reason they can't have a separate culture in the Scandinavian group, really.

I am curious - how exactly was Gotland in any way especially useful to make the Baltic a Danish, or Swedish or Polish or Russian lake? I would in my games as Sweden or Poland beat up the Baltic States and take their provinces and then defend them by putting 30,000-40,000 men on a fleet in Sund (or indeed any other sea zone), to keep it blocked to other fleets and to quickly sail to any rebellious provinces.

Jutland, Skane and the Sund straits, as long as you controlled them, you could move soldiers around quite easily.

I might make sense if Gotland had ports in all seazones around it, but it haas a port in only one, shared with Stockholm's prvince IIRC.
