Revolutions makes the game so much better, so if I were you I'd definitely look around for it. You can download from GamersGate, but if you want a hard copy... well... I'm surprised Amazon don't sell it.

From your avatar and username I'm guessing you're german or austrian, so here's a link to Victoria Complete (i.e. the original game + revolutions) on amazon.de:

Strange, the complete pack isn't on the american amazon.com.

I found one on ebay though (new and sealed): click! But it ships from sweden :p. It's probably the cheapest option for you, because you can pay in dollars, and the German and UK amazons charge 15 euro or 12 pounds, both more expensive than 15 dollars.

i appreiciate it man...but i can't use ebay lol

thnx anyway though...but really what does Revs do to Victoria?

I don't remember very well how vicky was like without rev. I believe revolutions added the capitalists building stuff, and the notifiers when certain things are wrong (like "you aren't researching anything", "you are losing money" etc.). I think some more economy balancing was done, too. In Vic without Rev, people used to be able to get Switzerland (or so) to get huge industrial scores, in Rev it seems harder to do that.

And revolutions seems better modifiable. At least, I couldn't get my random scenario generator to work on vanilla victoria . Also, the Victoria Improvements Project is developed only for revolutions (there is an old version for victoria somewhere, I think).

If you can get revolutions somewhere, it's really worth it.

Make no mistake about it, Victoria is a great game even without the Revolutions expansion. But with the expansion, you get more options and the possibility of economic expansion without using government resources due to the capitalists chiming in with their ready cash to expand their fortunes. Of course, you benefit from the industrial expansion of you capitalists through increased taxes. Hmm. Maybe somebody could arrange to have a copy sent to President Obama.;)

You also get the option to split POPs manually whenever they exceed 40k in size.

You can export the 1914 scenario end game and continue the game in HOI2 Doomsday if you like.

Colonization was changed in Revolutions as well.

You can have a great read about it on the VickyWiki. I loved the original Victoria, but I have also never regretted getting Revolutions.

I will warn you, however, that if you happen to be a particular breed of micromanager, you may not appreciate the changes made in Revolutions. There are a small number of "revolutionists" who do not like the expansion and only play the older versions of Victoria. At least that is what they claim.

To each his own, I suppose.

word to RElee about Obama lol

thnx guys...but idk...should VIP bring it to Rev standards?

The V.I.P. for regular Victoria is pretty fun. It is not quite as good as V.I.P. for Revolutions but it will give you plenty of reason to keep playing Victoria. (And you get the cool game icon which was inexplicably cut from the new V.I.P.)
