As jacob-lundgren said, Bolt went just a bit berserk in the OT forum yesterday, breaking several rules in the process. Seeing the rules are there for everyone that resulted in him being barred from the OT forum for 7 days.

It all seemed completely out of character with his posting history to date. Could it have been someone hacking his account or something?

OT fights are so much fun though. Whenever you are fealling down and want to agrue just post one of the classic OT topics and have some fun.
Yeah, I read that OT thread and would never have guessed it was Bolt unless you'd told me.
A good buddy of mine is a history buff from Cornell, and he and Bolt have the same kind of tone when talking about history -- a sort of fascinated appreciation of it coupled with a willingness and a desire to share it with everyone who is willing to listen. I mean, we all make sarcastic disparaging remarks about each other's countries from time to time (and our own -- especially those of us who are American!) but that simply doesn't sound like Bolt. Not that I claim to know the guy from Adam, but he's gone to such pains not only to provide the work he's done, but to educate us about the history that went into it.

My account was not hacked. My political views offended some people vis-a-vis the Iraq war. I cannot support a community that is governed by the notion that reasoned minority political views should be squelched or punished. My differences are a matter of principle that have nothing to do with my belief in HoI as a product. Since everything everyone says here is the intellectual property of the board owner, I felt that I would be supporting a company that maintains a policy with which I strongly disagree. Free exchange of reasoned political ideas, and banter among friends, should not be the source of punitive measures.
I apologize for whatever inconvenience or unwarranted expectations I may have created. This is an unfortunate situation which presently appears to me to have no solution.
There has to be more to the story than just that OT forum thread. What he said there wasn't that bad, and there was another post saying he'd been "warned already". I think there's more going on here than we know.
It's really simple though. He broke the rules, he got punished for them and now he's buggering off because of that.
