Do you add gold mines to trade companies? Is it wort it?

With new patch there is 90% autonomy in trade companies.
Though according to wiki: "For Production.png Production income the local autonomy effect is halved"
+ When you would get
Company Depot400 Trade power.png +4 trade power Local production efficiency.png +50% Local production efficiency

Penalties maybe could be nullified?



But I have tested it with Castile and Tafilalt (with cheats 'own_core'...)
and to me it doesn't seem working

in full cored state with ~ 17% autonomy I had 2.76 gold from production
but in trade company only ~ 0.33.

+ Gold has no trade value, so is it actually worth to have gold mines in trade companies or do you add gold mines to states?

Gold income is not production income. So you only get 10% of the gold income in a trade company province with 90% autonomy. It is much better to state gold provinces. This is especially true for gold provinces which are close to your capital like the Talafit gold mine for Castile. Far away gold provinces might cost a lot of state maintenance and not really be worth it.

Gold is so incredibly valuable that this will never be the case.

This. Put 10 Diplo Dev in the province and I don't care about maintenance. Gold should be stated asap always.

You are talking about "base production"(the development of a province) which increases goods produced. That modifies the gold income, because the gold income is 40 ducats per year per unit of goods produced.
I'm talking about production income which is calculated differently than gold income. Things that apply to production income (production efficiency modifiers and the reduced autonomy effect in trade company provinces) do not apply to gold income. If you don't believe me, you can calculate this in the game yourself.

But all the info in the wiki is pre-1.30. The wiki doesn't have the new system and I think they work completely differently now.
The Effects of trade companies are updated to 1.30 on the wiki(but I think that the last paragraph of that section is wrong). Some other sections of the page have not been updated, but this is a community wiki and you can help to improve it.

I just tested it in game using La Mancha. The wiki formula is bang on and TC does not affect gold income

At nine prdocution dev and +65% good produced modifier the observed monthly incomes and those calculated from the wiki formula:

Production efficiency did not impact it (and you can't even build a workshop if you want to).

Bottom line, you get far more gold income by stating gold mines.

The only benefit from making a gold mine a TC is the trade power, but there might be some specific circumstances where you can get more trade income by putting a gold mine that is also a centre of trade (for example, Sofala) into a TC to get the trade power rather than stating it for the gold. But that would be a very niche situation, although possible, especially if the AI devs the mine to something stupid like 12/2/13.

Removing from trade companies causes a negative modifier to goods produced (I think it is -200% or something, so effectively it zeroes it out). Therefore it does impact gold production.

If its a centre of trade I TC it. Otherwise I accept the culture and state. The one in Zimbabwe is easily converted due to being fetishist, Serbia is a bit harder, taiflat is low dev when you take it so convert quick or use the jesuits of 1444 as Iberia.
Thing to remember tho is you can't TC half the area and state the other half, so perhaps good idea to leave rest of area in a native vassals hands

What do you mean by "It doesn't seem to count when it is added to a TC"?
Gold income needs goods produced, because the yearly gold income is 40 * goods produced * (1 - autonomy). If a province has the -200% goods produced modifier from "Left Trade Company", it will produce no gold and give no gold income.

Yes, your Gold income is based on goods produced and is impacted by Goods Produced modifiers.

Adding a province to a TC does not affect goods produced. It increases the trade power of the provinces and the autonomy impact on production income. Since, despite where it shows on the province UI, Gold income is not production income Gold income isn’t affected by this.
