I purchased Stellaris 2 years ago, at the time I was into the GOG launcher because I like old games and don't like having multiple launchers installed. Over the years I've bought the DLC's barring Nemesis. During those years I've also been disappointed that not all platforms are treated equal. On GOG you don't get any achievements, and beta branch participation is out of the question.

Is there any consideration that can be given to GOG users?
  • Port the achievements over.
  • Implement beta branches.
Achievements are whatever, but it would be really nice if beta branches were at least offered in a MOD format instead. That way anyone can use them.

If none of this is an option. Is there a way I can transfer the content over (at a cost)? Because laying down another 202,35 euros to buy everything twice just to get access to achievements and beta's is unreasonable.

Wasn't sure where to put this request/complaint, so put it in general. If there is a different channel I need to put this request forward, please point me to it.

They can't make the beta a mod as they change internal code. I imagine that it's just a cost and time issue that they don't have everything for GOG compared to steam.

Crusader Kings 2 originally launched in both Steam and GamersGate. Eventually Paradox wanted to add stuff supported by Steam's API which would obviously not be supported by GamersGate. They ended up giving Steam codes to a small minority (me included) of the users who had purchased CK2 and it's expansions through GamersGate. It is unlikely PDX is going to do that again as currently they are pushing their shared launcher quite heavily.

I am not familiar with GOG's Galaxy client so I don't know if it can support multiple versions of the game?

Gog has the beta channel built-in but it was blocked at the other end a few years back because the system manager wasn't popular but you ask if it can be done so yes

Gog has a port for tracking achievement and as long as you have a Paradox account linked in then it does work but the way Paradox set their server up blocked porting the badges into Galaxy so they only show in game... Also Galaxy is needed and it doesn't work for offline installer users

There is zero support for Gog because Paradox assumes every user is on Steam and gog did allow people to use Paradox builds as well as Steam but the way it worked needed you to link account between Steam and Gog which requires cooperation that didn't work for long
