Dunno if ppl have made other threads on this - most likely they have. But in case somebody wants to survive as Germany in "Götterdämmerung" and are having a tough time. Then here is one way to do it :)

Enjoy!

Saving Germany - 1944 Götterdämmerung

Difficulty: Normal
AI aggr.: Furious

First of: You’re in trouble – have no doubt – this will probably take more than one try! Read this entire guide before unpausing the new game.

Secondly: Establish Priorities

1. Normandy
2. Italy
3. East Front

Resource status:
Energy: No Problems
Metal: No Problems
Rare Matrials: No immediate troubles for 6-12 months
Oil: Critical – disband all submarines, and cancel all nonessential airactivity & motorised movement

Units status:
You have a very powerful army and airforce – but it is undermanned, stretched too thin and will need some serious reorganising.

Production:
Immediately start a chain of 9*3 infantry divisions and cancel everything else

IC:
Set the production slider to 50 to cover the infantry divisions (the 5 extra to cover eventual strategic bombing – use the surplus to make Rocket brigades –make three chains of 20). Set the supplies slider to +10 of what is needed. Set the economy so that you have the smallest possible surplus of money. Divide what is left at roughly 75% to reinforcements and 25% to upgrades.

Political Leaders:
No changes needed for now

Strategic redeployments:

Strategically redeploy the follow units to Reims:

OKW Reserve (Essen)
Heeresgruppe Mitte (Wilno)
Heeresgruppe – only 12 Pz.Div. (Tallinn)
XV Gebirgskorps – only Pz.gr. Brandenburg (Tirana)
OKH Reserve – (Lodz)
XIV. Panzerkorps – except its sole infantry Div. (Florence)
Armee Reserve – only 29. Pz.Gr. (La Spezia)
Abs Venedig – only 90. Pz.Gr. (Venice)

Strategically redeploy all german units left in Yugoslavia and Greece to Milan

Strategically Redeploy any units on the eastern that cannot be merged with a large army (more that 5 divisions) immediately – move them to Königsberg

Rebase all aircraft to Berlin – Except the Rockets which you might as well launch immediately onto Britain. Once there divide them according to type. Set up every airgroup so that it does not upgrade or reinforce. Move all Fighters to the West and just leave the bombers for now.

Actions on the different fronts:

West front:
This is the front with the first priority – lets push those allies into the sea! But first a controlled withdrawal will be necessary.

IMPORTANT: Set all units on the western front with a “star” – Get them up to strength and upgraded as fast as possible!

Supply your infanty for offensives – NOT any motorised units.

Use infantry to defend the north flank – and your fallshirmjäger mixed with available infantry to the south. Concentrate all your armour in the center. Withdraw when needed – but never beyond Reims though.

Leaders: Give all these formations the best leaders – Preferably Tricksters and Offensive doctrine (and ofcourse Panzer Leaders for the Panzers).

Once the reinforcements arrive push the allies into the sea. At this point you may want to use your interceptors to clear the airspace sometimes. And see to it that you garrison all the coastsections you capture with one infantry division.

When this is complete – divide the motorised inf. Div. into two groups. Set one up in Avranches and one in Lille. These will act as Reserves in case of future allied landing attempts. Strategically redeploy 2/3 of your armour and Pz.Gr. to Italy and the rest to the east. Strategically redeploy all “leftover” infantry and the Fallschirmjäger to Italy

Italy:

Immediately move your Paras and Geb. Div. in Rimini to Florence – with a little bit of luck you should be able to make it there before an allied attack occurs. Also move the divisions from behind the front to Florence (only the ones you dont need to guard the south of france). Once reinforcements from the Balkans arrive in Milan, move them to Florence and Rimini – evenly divided. This will hold the allies indefinitely.

When the allies have been pushed out of France and the armour from that Sector arrives then push the allies of the Italian Mainland – set up two infantry division on every coast and guard the Sicilian straights with all your Fallschirmjäger. Then strategically redeploy your armour the East.

South of France:

Guard each coast with one infantry division immediately

Balkan:

Take control of the Bulgarian Army strategically redeploy it as follows:

Cyclades: 1 div (2)
Dardanelles: 1 div (2)
Patras: 2 div (3)
Athens: 2 div (3)
Kefalonia: 2 div (3)
Tirana: 2 div
Salonika: 3 div
Kavala: 3 div

The numbers in ( ) represent the number of divisions you should try to reach as quickly as possible – but this will not be possible until Bulgaria builds more troops.

Move three Croatian Division to Split and to Podgorica respectively.

Norway and Denmark:

Split up the Korps here so that one inf. Div. guards each coast.
Once new Divisions are ready deploy to empty coasts in Denmark and the one in Norway.

Finland:

Take control of the finnish army and deploy it as follows:

6 divisions in Mikkeli
6 divisions in Jyväskylä
3 divisions in Viipuri

Move all german units in Finland to Oulu and give them priority.

Hold the line from here as best possible – once your first new infantry divisions are ready you will probably want to send some of them to Finland to secure this defensive line.

Eastern Front:

Königsberg: 33 div.
Torun: 18 div.
Warsaw: 12 div.
Lublin: 21 div.
Zamosz: 21 div.
Stryj: 24 div.+ HUN
Iasi: 21 div.
Tulcea: RUM

RUM = All Romnians
HUN = All Hungarians

Deploy the divisions as shown above until reinforcements arrive from the west.

Retreat from all battles that aren’t easily won until you reach this line.

90% of armour should go to Stryj and the rest to Zamosz.

Reinforcements from the west and Italy should arrive in September/oktober

You may be pushed back from Königsberg – incase this happens make a new line in Danzig-Bygodysz-Lodz-Radom.

Regarding Allies: Make sure that you set the Hungarian infantry as prioritized and cancel all reinforcements and upgrades on all allied airforces.
Once all reinforcements have arrived from the west then it won’t be a problem to stabilize the front for good. Then start making rocket brigades for all the infantry in your eastern army.

By the summer of 1945 you should have an all 1945 infantry army complete with rocket brigades.
If not - then at least by 1946.

Start launching attacks with your armour + infantry where you see fit – but do not break through! Just keep on defeating large soviet armies on different sections of the front. After a while this will wear down the soviet formations enough so that you can break through simultaneously in every section. And then just move on through to the Urals and Baku – From here on its up to you!

Some important ekstra stuff:
Move the entire navy to Königsberg. (except all level 3 subs (and below) - disband them - they are useless).

DONT LOOSE ANY DIVISIONS: If a division is being destroyed - redeploy it - or if its not under aerial attack then prioritize it immediately.

Trade the romanians for oil!

Once your oil runs out - then remember to launch movements and attacks early in the day (before the oil meter reaches zero)! THIS IS ESSENTIAL!

Once you run out of Rare materials - then liberate Italy. You will be able to trade 20'ish rare materials from them - use metal cuz it costs you nothing.

Once your army is safe and alive then start to reinforce and upgrade your airforce

When coastal sectors are attacked - then move all nearby divisions to rout the enemy or atleast kick them of the beach should they succeed in landing. Oh - and remember to supply the defending division and those coming to the rescue for offensive operations (not is they use oil though!).

Research:

Computers - infantry 45 - Armour 45 - these three are essential! Start with them - then just do as you see fit.

Good luck and have fun!

I'd not research 45 infantry and armor with any sort of hurry. Especially 45 infantry makes your army gulp a lot more oil where you already don't have a lot. However there are enough in the world to trade and buy from that it is sufficient to keep your bombers operating on daily basis and panzers rolling until you taken down Soviet Union. Disband your oil drinking brigades if you really struggle with the black gold.

Only real restriction I placed on oil use is no 45 infantry and offensive supply for oil gulping units unless in some special cases.

For production on normal difficulty I suggest militia, 43 version of it is crazy good and it is all you need for beach defense. This will free up your existing infantry for deployment on Eastern front. Rest of your IC on reinforcement, you have plenty time to upgrade in winter.
