Welcome to this AAR. Enjoying the random AARs in EU IV, and inspired by the new random setup of El Dorado, I thought I'd venture out of my CK II Romans and try to run an EU IV AAR besides it, featuring gameplay in a random world with random basetax. As my first try at a gameplay AAR, the style will be different from my Romans, and right now, I have enough time to try my hand at two AARs at the same time, so why not? I think the quality of either one shouldn't suffer, and if it does or I have less time at my disposal, I'll switch between weeks and inspiration. Enough introduction, now there are the rules, and then let's begin!
Rules & Setup:
-I would describe myself as medium player, without min-maxing, so don't expect wonders
-There is no random nation button in the random setup. So I've created a primitive nation on Okinawa (no three mountains of the AI in this one), switched to observer and used the ledger to alphabetically sort the tags. Assigning them a number (411 in total), I then use random.org to determine which nation I'm going to play, switching with the help of the console. Sounds more complicated then it is. I only have to keep Okinawa existent else I can't start the save. (As of 1.11, I don't think I have to do this anymore, but I don't think it will have a big impact anyway.)
-As a gameplay AAR, it will be more screenshot-heavy. And there is not much research involved; all history was overthrown as soon as I hit 'random setup'.
-The playtime with each nation will have a base of ten years (plus two months for the first and 5 years for the last), and after those ten years I'll throw a dice: more then three (4,5,6) and I'll go on for ten more years, so a maximum of twenty (-five for the last)
-Normal difficulty, no lucky nations. I'd disable those advantages myself either way if take one over.
-If it wasn't obvious, no cheating.
-I give myself a chance to overrule entirely isolated nations (e.g. a lonely tribe in Alaska)
-Should I be annexed,
-For mods, I'm using Unit Packs Extended Lite to have the 'premium' units run around, and have set the defines.lua file to colour wasteland as well as choose ideas based on strategical choice (is it necessary or not in a random setup?)
-For the update rhythm, whenever I feel like it. Hopefully at least once a week.
-All major DLCs, no American Dream
-That should be it. Have fun?
