Since it's quite obnoxiously long to upgrade my fleet, I split the fleets into smaller and smaller units and then select them all, move them all to a system, then unselect one, and repeat, cycling through systems if necessary. then I wait to see the red ZZZ fleet icon since they don't go into orbit. I select those fleets, and hit the upgrade fleet button. Then I wait until I see them in an orbit. Then I select those now upgraded fleets to bring them back to where I want them.

Can we automate this? I feel like the AI needs this too, probably, to figure out to split the fleets to effectively upgrade them. As exciting as that process is, it's less tiring than watching the days go by before something ticks up by 1% if my fleet is in any decent sized group.

Actually, even better would be to upgrade on ship by ship based, instead of mass upgrade of whole fleet at once - this way ships would go back into service asap, we would not lose progress if fleet is needed somewhere - but that is a design change which i'm not sure was not ruled out during development.

Just put HoI3-style based upgrade there, please.
