Note: During the big war that occurred last period, France somehow got a small army into the interior of North America. When they dishonored our alliance and later declared war, that little army burned a large number of trading posts over a large area. I tried to rebuild them, but lost track of new colonies during the heavy fighting of the war. Additionally, now that I am warring with great powers often, I am losing trading posts and burning some myself. So, I have decided to no longer create a list of new provinces or to list new colonies in the game record. I will, however, make statements when a large area (North America, Pacific Islands, Africa) becomes completely colonized by me. New provinces will actually be counted in my hundred year reports. Sorry for any inconvenience, but tracking all those colonies during multiple front wars is VERY HARD.
Summary:
During this period, I had to take moderate cash and troop losses in Europe in order to ensure victory in China. After a long and difficult war, I am in control of all Asian provinces (I don’t consider Persia, Astrakan, Sibir, Kazan, or Russia really “Asian”). I now hold India, China, Japan, the Pacific Islands, all of North Africa and about half of the rest of Africa, all of the coastal provinces in North and South America as well as most of the internal provinces. Additionally, I control a sizable portion of the Middle East, all of Britain except Ireland, Wessex, and Anglia, and a large portion of the HRE.
With China out of the way, I will be able to use my ships exclusively for troop transportation in Europe and possibly a few ships might transport troops into Africa, but that will be a miniscule resource loss. In a short time, I will be able to build Weapons Manufactories. This will really push my technological advantage to the max and by the time I am facing the larger central European powers I will have such a massive technology advantage that there will be few problems bigger than the Russian winter. Also, my control of China will now facilitate colonization of the Northeast coast of Asia and then I can begin marching (and colonizing) into Siberia. Russia has faced major difficulties expanding south and Kazan is actually larger today than it was at the beginning of the game; so I anticipate little resistance or problems colonizing Siberia.
The annexation of China marks the beginning of the end of Europe. I no longer have to divide my troops between four fronts (Asia, Middle East, Northern Europe, and the British Isles). Instead, the annexation of China and Scotland reduces the number of fronts to 2. My vastly superior forces can easily crush my opponents and I believe that I will never have to pay for peace again. I am simply in too advantageous a position to do that. However, rebuilding my troop strength in Europe (to put down rebellions and to fight the enemy) will take time and I am not sure I will start another big war next period, but rather wait until the following one when I am completely replenished. However, I might outdo myself. I have done so many times already. I never anticipated my speedy advance into the Pacific, my quick conquest of India, China, and Japan, or my dominance in the British Isles. Ireland is the only non-colonial property owned by England. Shortly, it will be mine. Tis a shame. Tis a shame.
