Hello, its my first time competing in a build-off. my Paradox username is Alanino_Acidz, my real full name is Amin Hosari, 20 years old and I live in Lebanon. I am attaching a city of mine that has a suburb away enough from the city which is flourishing. My city is mostly GREEN where most of the industrial areas are tree-dependent and busses are electrical ones and I'm planning on going all out with electric cars whenever the city can afford. There's a lot of trees that form a barrier for the suburbs away from noise, and you can spot a lot of green parks as well as the clean river beside and the forestry workshops that rule the neighboring lands as well as tall high-density residential building. hope you like it and i get a winning place. PS: I'm really happy I could compete with my ps4 version. THANKS

The suburb of Marin Cove has unspoilt beaches and clean ocean water. The district includes a small, carefully maintained Nature Park. Carbon emissions in the district are practically zero. Pollution has been eliminated and banned. Recycling is standard and waste minimised. Combustion is banned and cycling promoted. Electric transport is allowed but most residents prefer to walk or cycle. Local produce from local farming is popular.

Dear Paradox employes and steam community, I saw that you asked for schreenshots of an eco friendly suburb design and thought thas this could be a fun little challenge, so I participated and this are my results.
My city Marburg is designed with pedestrians and bike drivers in mind so Ive buildt bike lanes on almost all of my roads and pretty much exclusiveley used mixed comercial and residental zones so that you dont have to walk far to buy groceries. The big parks are supposed to motivate the people to walk while at the same time cooling and cleaning the air. People could also relax or do sport in them. The city is connected to the outher world by both cargo and passanger train stations. There even is a short train line connecting different parts of the city, but almost all of the traffic is handeled by the free bus lines and people walking/ driving bike. The people who still want to drive a car have to drive an electric one, because they are a lot more quiet and dont pollute the air as much. All of the cities electricity is produced by wind/ solar energy and I used only the cleanest ways of getting rid of your sewage. all of the cities industry is specialised on forestry, the stores have the local and biological specialisation, and for the housing I used those which need less electricity and dont produce as much sewage.

how are you supposed to cross these big highways with a bike?

Here is my submission. This is my submission. I wanted to build a low pollution city when I started. I have only a small section of the industry-low level to keep pollution down. I think having an IT section is great. I really like the buildings and the organic section makes the city look better. This is the first city I built using the green earth pack. I had a lot of fun creating this city. Larry Ramsdell, lramsd1, United States

  • Toowoomba is a pristine mountaintop Green suburb, a steep climb up from the CBD of its small town of Remy.
Toowoomba is Remy's 2nd largest suburb with 1500 citizens - and takes the sustainability chops of the town to the furthest level in the region. The area was built from the ground up with net zero at its heart - baseload power coming from 100% renewable sources, supplemented with rooftop solar. The neighborhood is supported by dual reclamation/recycling centres with a commitment to zero waste going to landfill, while the town's sustainably sourced water is treated in an eco friendly facility after use.
The region as a whole boasts just 2% avg ground pollution, and no water pollution whatsoever.
Cycling is promoted within the Toowoomba area, and supported by cycling lanes throughout.
Access to top tier education ensures that the local community is educated on the problems of pollution and waste, and produce less of it.
Green & blue space have been enshrined in the daily lives of locals with access to many parks and playgrounds, and the beautifully kept Toowoomba Botanic Gardens & Aviary.
The sustainable forestry industry is the primary employer in the region, and supports furniture factory.

    Thanks for considering my entry.

Welcome to the City of Portes.

In our city there is a lot of beautiful places, like our farming fields by the river and up to our lumber yard by the hills, just south of our bustling city, do we have our little suburb of Dilliford by the river. In Dilliford can you find all organic produce from our local farms, even fresh salmon straight from ur river and perfect for organic sushi. You can enjoy a walk along the river on the walking bridge to feel the gentle river breeze with the other chims.

How to get there: From Applegate Square, there is a bus going to the central bus Terminal At Galde Hills from there is a possibility to take a connecting bus or the train direct to Dilliford Suburbs.

Other News: the City Of Portes is proud to announce that we have managed to reduce the use of private cars in our city and increased collective traffic with our bio buses, we have also managed to reduce ground pollution down to 1%.

With best regards
The rapporteur's office in the city of Portes

Welcome to Freemont City. This city is located on Sandy Shores, and aside from its tourist attractions downtown, provides total tree coverage in all parts of the City. Freemont City houses just under 50,000 residents who enjoy the outdoors. From bustling downtown to the suburbs located in Midtown, the entire city is built to sustain. Freemont City is home to over 30 parks, and a complete nature reserve surrounding the northern border. All areas are accessible by use of mass transportation, including our large biofuel bus system! Be sure to come in and visit, but bring your bike!

**This city is still under heavy development, however, it is fully functioning, with no mods (Not even move it, or unlimited money). I am hoping to continue to work on this city and hope people will enjoy the progress. As for my submission, below are just 3 screenshots I feel represent the competition the best, and I have included a link to my video highlighting areas of the city! Thanks for the chance to enter!

Welcome to Blooming Hills! The city consists of three boroughs: Prosper, Industry, and Greenhill. And I suppose Stafford and Trash Island can be included.

NEW BH - Bird Eye View.jpg

Prosper Hill, which is the main city. It was pretty generic until an earthquake AND a meteor decided to give it more character by ripping apart the north side, hence Quaker Heights.
Industry Hill is a bit self-explanatory. This borough is mainly reserved for the forestry industry, they're logging trucks love to test the efficiency of my road network. It's been peachy clean since I've moved the recycling plants to Trash Island and updated the water treatment plants.
Greenhill is where it's at, that's the whole suburb situation. At first, I was reluctant, however, it's kind of growing on me. The district specializations are agriculture, organic and local produce, and self-sufficient buildings. They have a dozen environmental policies, accessible and biofuel transit, local services and education, a bunch of health and wellness areas indoor and out, and they're pretty much self-sufficient in the energy and water departments. They have Alder Gardens, a quaint promenade along the riverside, and Mount Joe, for those who desire a closer look at nature, and a further look of the greater city...and the shelters, because I don't need another Quaker Heights incident. WHICH INDEED OCCURRED!! "Little" Ann, graced us with her 9.7 scale presence by punching into the east side. Her visit graced us with Greenhill Memorial Park, for those lost, but not forgotten...

NEW GH - East Side View.jpg

NEW GH - West Side View.jpg

....anyway, very eco-friendly, functional, creative, and aesthetically pleasing...

Welcome to the suburb Greenmountain. As the name suggests, it is located in the foothills of an impressive mountain range. The streets flow in a vein-like pattern, away from a local shopping and recreation center. There are however also some small shops located at key intersections further up in the suburbs.

Regarding public transport, the suburbs are interconnected by an expansive monorail system, supported by many lifts passing over the hills. The monorail also connects the suburb to the main city, where most jobs are located. Even though electric cars can still be used regularly, most citizens choose to travel by foot, over an extensive network of paths and parks.

The energy production is mostly covered by a large solar updraft station, that stands as a monument of progress in the center of the area. The remaining energy is covered by wind turbines. Recycling wise, the city has modern waste water managing plants, and a recycling center at the edge of the area.

The suburb is considered as a prime example of sustainability, because it does not impact its surroundings with any noticeable pollution or destructive infrastructure, with the roads flowing along the natural slopes of the are, while even being financially self sufficient.

Thanks for considering my entry! :)

Hi there! Welcome to the suburb of Cypress Hills, built without creative mode in the city of Cannes home to a lovely 145k people. As expected, all green policies are in place, including High-Tech Green Industry.

Cypress Hills is a wealthy, self-sufficient section of Cannes, where everything is in walking or biking distance, as you can see from the lack of cars. There are hiking trails, lightly forested areas, mountains, parks, and shops producing local goods with power coming from local solar panels. The residents also work towards conserving species approaching extinction as well as utilizing vertical farming to minimize farming impact. Everything is electric-only and the entire city's power comes from renewable sources. Transit to or from Cypress Hills can come in the form of a Train, Subway, or Blimp or decide to take one of the many walking and biking paths throughout the suburb and city. A safe neighborhood, Cypress Hills boasts nearly 4000 residents living the healthy and ecofriendly lifestyle.

We eagerly await your visit to beautiful Cypress Hills. Contact your local agent for residential opportunities or our local bike-and-hike tour.

Name: Joseph Alexander Lambert (@j4lambert)
Age: 26 years
Suburb name: Rosewood (metropolitan area: Rockport)
Residence: New York, United States
Platform used to create the suburb: PC (macOS 11)
DLC used: Pearls of the Far East

The suburb of Rosewood is the chief suburb of the city of Rockport, which is located in a Pacific Northwest-styled area. The suburb is surrounded by mountains and farmland, and has numerous policies put into place so that it is environmentally friendly. The power and water consumption policies help reduce the electricity and water usage of the suburb and the metropolitan area as a whole, while the heavy traffic ban prohibits heavy traffic from entering all districts placed in the Rockport area. Other policies implemented include a ban on pets, a recycling program (both to reduce garbage accumulation and pollution) and a smoking ban (to increase healthiness). Farming is one of the main industries of the suburb (along with forestry) even though a small generic industrial park exists. The main transportation option in the city is the metro system (comprised of three lines that serve a combined capacity of 4000 people per week); no buses were used in the city's final submission. Renewable electricity (wind and solar) is the only electricity option in the suburb of Rosewood as well as the city of Rockport.

A photo album depicting the suburb's history has also been attached, as well as the three mandatory photos and corresponding descriptions.

No mods or custom assets were used in the creation of Rockport and its surrounding areas, including Rosewood.

Hello! This is my first-ever contest participation for Cities: Skylines, even though I've been playing this game since its launch six years ago. Hopefully, it will motivate me to keep building cities that reflect my dreams of becoming a very successful transportation planner. Note: if you see something to the upper left with my name, I was on Discord at the same time, so disregard that if needed. The city itself has been built with no mods at all -- instead, I opted to build with the DLCs and content creator packs, which are allowed in the contest.

Sutter’s Grove is a coastal community with a population of around 130,000 inhabitants. With twenty neighborhoods, three specialized industrial areas, and multiple transit lines spanning nine square tiles, the city has become a suburban haven for families and seniors desiring an urban lifestyle without sacrificing walkability, quality education, open space access, and astronomical home prices. Sutter’s Grove is also committed to using sustainable energy and efficient water distribution methods, with wind, solar, and geothermal plants powering the city, and free transit is available citywide.

Sutter’s Grove has three neighborhoods which present sustainable housing developments: Preston Island, which is home to the city’s music stage and a tourist district accessible by ferry; Willow Heights, which also promotes organic and local produce at its shops; and Broad Square, the largest of the three sustainably developed neighborhoods. All have easy walking and biking access to open spaces, shopping corridors, schools, and other functions, with each neighborhood served by at least two transit lines, utilizing trains, biofuel buses, and trams.

Sutter’s Grove has a prestigious university aimed at in making suburban living more amenable through continuous research, and the city government works with the college to keep its reputation as an attractive community.

The neighborhood is located in the picturesque valley. There are many parks here, including a national park in the surrounding mountains, golf course and boulevards along the river.. Only electric cars are allowed to ensure peace and quiet for citizens, so adequate infrastructure has been built here. It also offers residents access to fast and reliable public transport including monorail and 5 bio fuel buses lines. The entire system of local public transport is connected with a transport hub enabling quick access to the city center. Despite that, all the most important needs of residents, such as shops or education, are provided locally. Electricity comes from a modern hydroelectric power plant and windmills and the sewage is processed in an eco-friendly sewage treatment plant.

No mods were used in a process of building a city.

My city is called "El Valle", it is a city without mods and without assets, I began to create it with dirt roads and with few resources, little by little I was earning money to give them paved streets and basic services.

The city has a growth process based on real cities, little by little they have industry, ports, freight trains, etc.

I hope you like my city, greetings from Mexico.

Hi there!

I want to present you my suburb - Eco Heights. All building are eco-friendly – suburb contains only self-sufficient houses and local supplied grocery stores. Whole suburb is highly forestated (suburb had been founded in the forest, which had expanded during district growth). Main road of suburb was formed to look like flower, with several tiny parks in its leaves and a beautiful main park, located in “flower head”. At green territories citizens, as well as tourists, can breathe with fresh air and rest a bit from noisy city life. Car traffic are highly reduced with the help of 7 local bus lines, powered only by bio-fuelled vehicles, connection to city metro line and well-developed network of bike lanes. All services are placed locally, at the terrain of suburb, which reduces a need of travelling to city center. Main services are handled as most eco-friendly as possible: energy used in district come only from green sources, sewage is filtrated by advanced eco treatment plants and wastes are processed only by recycling centres. Also, there is several laws applied to suburb, like: reduced water and energy use, e-cars, bike encouraging, recycling and more parks interest.

Hope you’ll like it! :)
