Global Build-off: Berlin Edition - Competition rules


The Global Build-off: Berlin Edition competition is organised by the Stadtmuseum Berlin, and sponsored by Paradox Interactive. For more details about the terms and conditions of this contest, please refer to the Stadtmuseum Berlin website.


The Competition is open for anyone around the world aged 18 or above. Entrants under the age of 18 require parental consent to participate. Employees (and members of their immediate family) of the Stadtmuseum Berlin, Paradox, their agents, affiliates, and anyone connected to this competition are not eligible to enter.


The Competition starts at 8pm CET on March 13th, 2021, and ends at 6pm CET on April 30th, 2021 and the winners of the Competition will be announced within three 3 weeks of the closing date. Entries or participation after this time will not be considered.


No purchase of any goods or services is necessary to be eligible for entry into this prize draw. To participate in the competition the entrant must:
  • Only one entry will be accepted per participant. Multiple entries from the same person will be disqualified;
  • All persons of unrestricted legal capacity who have reached the age of 18 at the time of participation are eligible to participate.
  • Own Cities: Skylines base game on Steam (technical requirement)
  • Provide all the necessary information with your submission, including your name, forum name, 3 screenshots of your creation and a short description
  • Use one of the three maps provided specifically for the contest
  • Respect the judging criteria explained in the contest presentation
  • All content submitted for the Global Build-off: Berlin Edition contest must comply with the general Paradox Interactive Terms of Use.
  • Any content infringing the Terms and Conditions will be disqualified and the author banned from Paradox Interactive official channels. The prohibited behaviours include, but are not limited to:
  • Transmit messages which are offensive, unlawful, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable;
  • Post advertisements to sell goods or services;
  • Engage in “trolling”;
  • Upload files that contain software or other material protected by intellectual property laws or by rights of privacy and publicity, unless you own or control the rights thereto or have received all necessary consents.
Entries that do not comply with the rules, may be deemed invalid at the sole discretion of Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox Interactive. The Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox are not responsible for entries not received for whatever reason, for example, but not limited to technical, hardware or software malfunctions, misdirected entries, lost or unavailable network connections, incorrect, garbled, failed, delayed electronic or other communications or other technical problems related to entries.

The Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox reserve the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions, such change shall be effective immediately upon posting to this webpage. The Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox also reserve the right to amend or cancel the Competition if circumstances arise outside of The Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox’s reasonable control.

The Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox are not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.

Any participant who attempts or enters the Competition in a manner, which in The Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox’s determination is contrary to these rules or by its nature is fraudulent or unjust to other entrants including without limitation tampering with the operation of the Competition, hacking, cheating, deception or any other unfair playing practices such as intending to threaten, annoy, abuse, or harass any other entrants or The Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox and/or any of its agents or representatives, or who submits an illegible or incomplete entry may be rejected from the Competition at The Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox’s sole discretion.


There will be six (6) winners of the Competition in total. Each winner will receive the following:
  • Prizes for Best New “Waisenbrücke” Bridge and Immediate Surroundings
  1. First place: 1000 EUR + Razer Huntsman V2 analog keyboard
  2. Second place: 600 EUR + Razer BlackWidow Pro V3 wireless keyboard
  3. Third place: 400 EUR + Razer BlackWidow V3 keyboard
  • Special Prizes for the Best Build Overall in the Extended Area
  1. First place: 500 EUR + Razer Viper Ultimate with charging dock mouse
  2. Second place: 300 EUR + Razer Viper Ultimate with charging dock mouse
  3. Third place: 200 EUR + Razer Viper Ultimate with charging dock mouse
The prizes stated above have no alternatives. They are non-transferable and cannot be sold. If due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Paradox, Paradox is unable to provide the above-stated prizes, The Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox reserves the right to award substitute prizes of equal value. All prizes are subject to the terms and conditions of any supplier. Any taxes due on the prize will be paid by the winner. The Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox’s decision as to those able to take part and selection of winners is final. No correspondence relating to the Competition will be entered into.

The claim to the prize is not transferable. The decision of the jury is legally binding; there is no recourse to legal action.


The winner(s) will be contacted by private message on Paradox Interactive forums. The Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox are entitled to select an alternative winner(s) from among the entrants If the winner(s) cannot be traced after reasonable efforts made by The Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox. A list of all winner(s) will be available on The Stadtmuseum Berlin website and Paradox Interactive forums for thirty (30) days following the day of the selection of winners. The Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox reserve the right to choose another winner if satisfactory proof of age and/or parental consent is not received (if applicable).


Any entrant’s personal data processed in conjunction with the Competition is processed for the purpose to execute the Competition and adhering to any legal obligations. Processing of personal data for this purpose is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party. If Paradox is not allowed to process the personal data, the entrant will not be able to participate in the Competition. The Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox will share the personal data only to such suppliers that must have it in order to execute the Competition, i.e. social media platforms, travel agencies and carriers. These recipients may process the personal data outside of the European Union and The Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox ensures the safety of the personal data by entering into legally binding and enforceable standard data protection clauses or any other appropriate safeguard. The personal data will be processed for up to three months from the end of the competition or as long as The Stadtmuseum Berlin and Paradox is legally obliged to process the data.
