I was playing multiplayer and my friend got Glitterhoof. I paid the horse cash and he came to my court, after that I asked the Pope to nominate him boshop. He did and the prol killing the old bishop fired... But he just vanished. I want horses!

When you receive and event named "Spurs or Furs?" you have to choose "Spurs" for Glitterhoof and "Furs" for meeting a Sentient Bear...

Same thing happened with my Court Physician Horse M.D. He just vanished.
