Giving fief to one of your lords?

How do you give a fief to a lord?

I seam to be blind at finding an answer, only posts where people have posed the question, but no answers.

To make it clear, i mean NOT after taking the castle/town.

I have gone a talked to all the lords to whom should have it, to my minster, to the castle i want to give to someone, but can not find what Im after.

Any help, or imbarisling, pointing to the post with this already, many thanks.

You have to talk to your chancellor, or whatever he's called. The companion/wife/prominent local who helps run your kingdom.

If you filled that position with the prominent local, you're out of luck, you can only assign fiefs thru your wife or companions, so get rid of him asap.

Ah thanks, im off to get the guy sacked, unless their is an option of beheading for being a nuisance and making some of my lords pissed off with me.
