As the title says it!

I'm in my fourth game, 1000 stars, minimal habitable planets, no guaranteed habitable planets(because they are added on top of the minimal, so it's more i think at the end), 25 empires, normal primitives. 2440 i'm having 25 planets not counting the habitats that i decolonize. ADMIRAL difficulty.

The micromanaging is ridiculous. I'm swimming in resources.
Selling everything that can be sold because i throw energy and buying whatever there can be bought.

Rare resources ain't that rare when you can sell 15 of each, on top of what you use.

PLEASE change the slider, so that there are even less habitable planets in the game!!!
HELL even put an option, that there are no habitable planets at all apart from the starting ones!
Seriously it has been so long (like more than a year at least) since i've played with normal habitable planets. Who even does that?

All of my friends play with minimal habitable planets.

I was gonna write a loooong post about the balancing of the game, but I decided to do a short one on the most ridiculous issue that has been in the game since launch.

Please fix it and thank you for your time!

P.S. SS from my last game.

I do .25x habitable planets and crowded galaxies as well. With 2 guaranteed it also helps the balance as a big chunk of each empires economic power is guaranteed instead of random.

But 1000 stars how do you not expect loads of pointless micro?

Try setting guaranteed planets to zero and see what happens.

I said I did that and yes it's even less, but still it's more planets than I want.

I want a huge galaxy with a few habitable planets. To be really worth fighting over them.

In my last game with 0.25 planets, I had 7 planets within 3 jumps of my capital :p. Granted, I played with two guaranteed ones (and the game placed two guaranteed planets of my neighbor directly near my capital...)

Though the problem is not really the number of planets, but the fact that you never reach the point where you don't need to take care of a planet anymore...

at 80 planets micro i drew the line of "i dont give a fuck about expansion anymore" it was just tedious repetition. Boring, pointless and if you have around 2-4k of each ressource each month...you REALLY have to try very very hard to not hit the max each month
Why not just use sector AI at that point?

Inefficiencies dont really matter

because there realy isn't an sector AI anymore (i know, technicaly there is stil one but you have to feed your sectors minerals/energy yourself now)
Altough you could say "Make vassals, they're the enw sector AI" ;)

Im envious of how your galaxy turned out. Mine is full of weak small divided empires with horrible border gores. Are you using some AI mod or did you set empire count low?

Edit: bit off topic. I apologise.

No mods used. Not sure what just happened there on my left. Suddenly that nation went poof. Empire count was 25 so more than standard for 1000 galaxy

Step up your game man! I'm purging so hard I don't even know what to do anymore.
hived.jpg

I do agree that there should be a lower setting for habitable planets. Maybe a 10-15% option? There is also an issue with the random events running out. There aren't many repeatable anomalies and the terraforming candidate will pop up very frequently.

Put those resources into building more alloys. There are always more uses for alloys, especially with an impending crisis. Why produce so much food? The amount you're dumping onto the market it's likely near worthless. Fill up your starbase cap with anchorages, build many battleships and then keep building them.

I aim to build my allow income up towards +1000 in the 2300s to fuel the mass construction of gateways, battleships, and megastructures. Or you could mass produce food you have no apparent use for and sell it for as little as possible.

Why not just use sector AI at that point?

Inefficiencies dont really matter

That's what you say, i say they do matter. I max out everything as good as i can. But manually playing 80 planets because sector ai refuses to work is just...meh!
Its so tedious its more of a job instead of fun game time. Stupid non existant sector ai cannot be relied upon and its tedious interface makes nothing easier...manually clickfesting ressources to the sector is just...silly, id rather build myself then. Its less clicks.

I don't know how people deal with the micro of x5 planets.
I play on x2 normally, I feel like the game is just much much more fun with more planets, the problem is it also means its gonna be slower and conquering the AI takes a lot longer so "winning" a game takes more time as you need to own 40% of all habitable planets so the more planets you have the longer it takes to achieve that.
