so really cool thing about the bastard trait is whenever dyre the stranger has another kid, he founds a new dynasty. however, his firstborn usually does not join that new dynasty, which causes some pretty weird behaviour. dyre is retained as the founder of the oskylder dynasty but hes now a different dynasty, and the game kind of doesnt like that at all
likewise, the founder of the house of navarra in 1066 starts off married with three kids, and if he squirts out another one before copping it, he founds a bastard dynasty while his existing children remain in the house of navarra. those kids stay as part of the jimena dynasy, and also theres three founders of that house now, causing floater issues that duplicate members on the dynasty tree menu if they ever intermarry, leading to crashes in the lategame if the dynasty gets big enough (this is also a problem with the house of oldenburg, easily fixed by just making the wife a lowborn, but i digress)
its really frustrating honestly, if i know anything about game development (and i dont), playtesters yelled about this a million times but somehow it just never got prioritised
also, you removed the bastard trait of welf, founder of the younger house of welf, in 1066, gave him the legitimized bastard trait ahistorically, commented in that you need a new solution to stop him inheriting lombardy now, and then never did that. an invisible disinherit trait that stops him from inheriting any titles, not just dynastic ones, would be the ideal solution, since you could use that elsewhere for similar situations, but in the meanwhile the bastard founder trait is RIGHT there. you could also distinguish the younger and elder houses of welf and make the younger one part of the obertenghi dynasty so you can just give him the disinherited trait, which wouldnt be inaccurate at all from a historical standpoint
the fact that this is a problem in 1066 isnt unexpected, its patently obvious less time and effort was invested into that start date overall (understandably - players are obsessed with starting as early as possible for some reason, but it probably shouldnt be so obvious). however, the fact that it features in a prominent 867 character as well is mind boggling. its a simple fix as well - launch a new game, search "bastard" in the character finder, take down the relevant character ids, search character history files with the option to also search file contents activated and just replace them all with bastard founder. 15 minutes max of dev time, i have literally done this myself
forgive me for the tone but like i said, its REALLY frustrating
