I didn't know about it. Imagine what would've happened if the crusade of Varna had succeeded...

Anyways, I like the idea of catholics being able to mend the great schism if Byzantium is at the verge of destruction. I'm not sure how it'd work though.

Maybe it would be a good idea to expand this mechanic further: every religion in the Christian group could mend any schism. Christians who are neither Orthodox nor Catholic could mend/absorb another Christian religion if they hold every holy site of this other Christian religion. For example, if a Miaphysite ruler holds every Catholic holy site, this ruler can choose to "Mend the Catholic schism" and catholicism and its heresy become heresies of Myaphisitism.

Though I would like the idea of uniting the Christendom under one branch, I can´t see it as "mending a schism" as all you are doing it declaring a branch´s main religion a heracy of your own with enough power behind you to make it happen. The game today treats this interaction badly, it´s just a matter of military power. Yes, you need a bunch a piety to fire the decision but that´s it.

I would like alot more dynamic in the religious setup with a living merge och splitup of branches depending on the religious influences.
