Perhaps this has been mentioned previously. For same strange reason nation A can march through nation B in order to attack nation C even though it doesn't have military access granted by nation B. Although there may be a reson behind it I think that marching troops with impunity through foreign territory should not have place. In such case nation B should grant casus belli against nation A. Quite logical and historically accurate IMHO.

It only happens either inside the HRE when the emperor is at war, or if the troops in question are exiled. It should never happen otherwise, and if it is, it may be a bug.

Do u have any examples? The thing is that its impossible for any nation walking through another without military acces, there are only a few excpections.

1. The HRE emperor automatically gaining acces through the princes in in times of war. (this may justify a CB)
2. Allies or enemies in war. ¨
3. "black flag troops"

Most recent example:
Multiplayer game. Currently I'm playing as Aragon. I'm in a war against England and Portugal. Castile, which is my ally (human player if it matters) is not granting military access to Portugal, although Portugal is marching through its territory to attack me. Portugese armies have to black flags or what so ever. I thought this was implemented in recent patch. Perhaps it's a bug...

Playing a tyrone in ireland. Meath declare on Leinster. Meath is allied with scotland. I'm allied to leinster. I refuse call to arms and still scotland marches his troops over the straight through my country and connacht (giving mil access) into leinster and conquers it.

p.s. i wasn't allied to scotland. Just allied to leinster, connacht and england.

Should not happen. Either you accidentally agreed to give them military access (perhaps had given it long before and forgotten?) or there's a bug somewhere. If you encounter it again, you could check if they have military access (from your diplomacy screen) and if not, post a bug report.

Unfortunatly, game has advanced 200 years now :(
No way to check if i had given mil access...

But i'm pretty sure that i hadn't. I actually slowed gamespeed and checked if i had any relatioin to scotland when i saw these yellow troops in tyrone.

Sounds like a bug; I'm not aware of allies getting to use their buddy's access during a war.

Personally, I'd REALLY like if you could demand military access, and have a CB if refused. Or, have an option to just march through neutral lands without access for AE, attrition, and them getting a CB. I absolutely cannot stand when I am blocked by someone with no reasonable way around it. Blocked access was a big problem in game for ai, hence the current mil-access-every-war-everywhere plan they employ, and it sure doesn't seem logical either to just sit on your ass because the belgiums of the game won't let you through.

Since a few patches ago, I've noticed that you always give access to your allies when they are at war. If that's a problem, don't ally them.

Beyond that, the only ways to walk through people's land without access are HRE and exiled.

That's not the problem. As I said the problem is enemy marching through my ally land without access rights.

If Portugal wasn't allied to Castile, then that was a bug (assuming you checked that he wasn't giving access; it's possible the Castile player gave access and lied about it). If you notice it again, make a save so you can report it properly.

Well I play only with my friend with nobody else so there wasn't point for him to lie. Even if so then I could see he is granting access to Portugal simply by checking his country in diplomacy tab. It's not the first time I see such issue so I thought it's not a bug but something implemented on purpose. That's why I created this thread. Next time I will report it.
