Giuseppe Garibaldi in Vicky 2

I wonder... will he be in the game? He was one of the most famous and influential men of the century. He fought many wars, both in Europe and America, and was pretty much always by the side of the underdog. I wonder if this will be reflected in the game, somehow, at least for some flavour. He could take command of revolutionary or nationalistic rebel armies around the world, or he could offer his services as a general (along with his volunteers who followed him in every adventure) to those governments he could like (republics).

Well, if not I will make a mod about him He's, imho, one of the most fascinating personalities of the century. It would be a shame if he isn't in the game.

They have to draw the names for generals from somewhere, so Garibaldi may well be available for Sardinia-Piedmont and some others.

What I think he said was that it would be few scripted events, not none. Thou i think you would be better of checking that with a better informed source then me.

When you say no scripted events, you mean that if I meet certain criteria, there won't be an event that occurs... Damn.

I liked Vicky (and VIP) for it's historical setting. Hopefully the modders get in there and makes a historical plausability mod.

You'll be disappointed then.
And the whole point of decisions is that when you meet criteria, you can activate them as you please rather than having them crop up out of the blue. No more being given techs that you already have or any other number of weird results from events.
Forming Italy will I assume be almost identical to how it was in Vicky 1-beat the other Italian minors and occupy Rome.
Presumably Garibaldi will be a general available to sardinia-pietmonte, can't say I know much about the Italian unification.

Why not by name? He was born in 1807 and had participated in uprisings in Piemont in 1834 already, so why should he not show up in the events in Italy? Even if they are "sandbox events" triggered by circumstances and not by date or script? You're not saying you will take out every historical person regardless, are you?

Not taking out, abstracting. History unfolded as it did in real life, it won't unfold in the same way in Vicky 2.

I do hope events, decisions, missions etc... will help guide the game in a historically plausible way, though. Too much sandbox will hurt Victoria...

Becasuse if you run the Kingdom of the Two Scillies well you should not be screwed over by some arbitatary historical event.

I think that what they're asking is for Italian nationalism events to involve Garibaldi, rather than for a fixed historical event chain that necessarily revolves around Italy being unified by Piedmont-Sardinia.
