I have only played the demo version of HoI2 and have a few questions about the full version:
1) From HoI I remember that many of the major nations (most notably Germany and USSR) ended up with army sizes that were quite large compared to actual WWII army sizes. This was later "fixed" for Germany by drastically cutting manpower, but still exists for the Soviets. My way of seeing this is that in HoI the cost (measured in supply cost) of a division was way too low, so a division (at least a vanilla inf div) was basically free to maintain. Has this been fixed in HoI2?
2) In HoI the supply consumption of a unit that was in combat was (I think) x2 compared to a resting division. For many purposes I find this highly unrealistic (especially for highly mechanized units when fuel is concerned). Is this still the same in HoI2 or has supply/fuel consumption while in combat been increased a lot?
3) In HoI there was a very big difference in IC cost between producing a brand new division compared to reinforcing a strength 1 division back up to strength 100. In essence this is more or less the same thing, except the cost for it was drastically different. Playing as the Soviets in HoI I would never realy mind if my infantry divisions got ground down to around 10 strength or so (since it was basically free to reinforce back to 100), but when I lost a division (due to it getting 0 strength) I would be realy sad. Has this been fixed in HoI2?
