I just realized that I have never recieved a gift of money from another nation. However Ive sent hundreds of gifts per campaign to other nations ... Will this change?

As said many times before, other nations dont give you gifts because you could first take their cash and then DOW them as you please.
Dont know if that is going to be implemented (could be you receive -stab or extra bb when you DOW a country that recently gave you money)

I get tired of being forgotten when someone is feeling generous as well.
Maybe there should be a stab hit for nations you have good relations with. How about -1 stab for 0-100, -2 for 100-159, and -3 for 150-200, would this solve the problem?

Don't forget.... the cash you spend on gifts is never recieved by the other player! They don't get cash... they get a "letter" or "a gold sceptre" or spmthing like that.
I'm pretty sure they get cash... In multiplayer when you send a gift to another human player, they get cash. My friend and I use it for loans without a specific due date (also we just send gifts back and forth to improve our relations as we are usually allied). I have also noticed countries often upgrade fortifications or build troops after I give them gifts
In any case, this has been discussed a whole bunch, and I do happen to think there should be other gift options besides just money, although I doubt it'll happen.
No way! really? The manual is pretty explicit about that not being the case.... I understand how it could be different in the Multiplayer game....

The way it works in EU is that when you give a gift, the country recieving it gets the cash. Historically, you would give something like a golden carriage or a nice scepter or something. Sometimes, in the case of the Netherlands, cash was really given, because England wanted them to beat up the Spanish.
I suspect for play reasons in EU, the recieveing country gets cash because when you get a nice carriage or scepter, thats less money the monarch has to spend making his or her court look cool. And that money can be spent on the army, etc.

Well... the thing is that the player you send a gift to shouldn't recieve the money... it should just pop up a dialog box that states that "We have received a letter of introduction from Bavaria. Our relations have been slightly improved" or something like that. As the money is spent on some sort of gift, for example a statue, a chariot or something like that, the player shouldn't really recieve the money, just the gift.
That's pretty funny -- 'cuz I've had the computer take my money with one hand and sign a declaration of war against me with the other... scurvy dogs!
