Yesterday i played a CHC game until 1950, i couldnt do much until i convinced the USSR (and by convinced i mean i used "acceptall") to lemme join the Comintern and lets crush Japan and "puppeted in less than 5 months" Nat China together (which of course meant that USSR does the crushing and i...well i watch).

It went quite well and USSR started offering me my cores they liberated from JAP and CHI, but here comes the problem: i didn't get control of the provinces and they kept offering me the same 5 provinces until i got bored of it and just gave em to me via savegame editing.

JAP then landed ~50 divisons in Korea (i have no idea how they got them, although at this point they have already puppeted India) and pushed SOV back. SOV meanwhile won the war against Germany and finally eliminated JAP and started giving me provinces again, and to my surprise after like 20 tries they succeeded in actually giving me the rpovinces. The next 5 provinces i got within the first try, but the next 5 needed 20-30 tries again. It was really weird.

tl;dr version: gifting provinces does not always work and it does not seem to correlate to whom the gift-giver the province got from.
