Playing as Germany, 1936 campaign.
I control the Suez Canal. When clicking on the canal itself on the map, it also states I control the Suez and may pass my ships through the channel. Yet, I am unable to do so in actual game play. Even 'flottes' based in Alexandria or Tel Aviv are incapable of moving through the Suez. Rumours suggest you need both Gibraltar & Suez to freely pass your ships through the Med. Obviously, a bug since the damn AI can pass all sorts of fleets through Gibraltar but my fleets are totally locked in the Med. Please address this concern. I'm certain I'm not the only one frustrated by this glich.
